| Hello, I've started to add the BTB rules to the Army Builder 3 Mordheim DAT files. You can download the current version here: ab-mordheim-btb_v0_2.zipDocumentation is in the FAQ (main menu => Help => Mordheim FAQ). This version works fine for basic campaign management, and contains the Merchant Caravans warband. Feel free to use it and give feedback if you need something. Future versions may or may not break your rosters (*). This version has mainly been made public to gather feedback. Implemented features (version 0.2 alpha):
- An objective can be picked (restricted to race, but can be overridden).
- Campaign points can be tracked.
- Achievements are displayed automatically, depending on objective and number of campaign points. Descriptions are included in the roster footnotes.
- BTB skills (strength, academy) added.
- Experience "tick boxes" added to the printed roster for all units that can get exp, and for the campaign points.
- Costs overridden for Dark Venom, Skaven Pavise, Elven Cloak, Barding
- Merchant Caravans warband added
(*) Note: well, it will probably break nothing. The worst that should happen is that you have to delete the Border Town Burning unit from your roster, which tracks your BTB progress - your other units should be safe. But you're on your own.

| Which version of AB do you use? I'm using 3.2; you should just unzip the archive into the data folder, you don't need to "import" it or whatever. | |

| Version 3.2b Okay... so I pick Reiklanders and pick the stash and the BTB entry. How do I pick an objective? And pleeease... Amazons don't have anything to do with BTB. Oh, and maybe you want to include a link to this thread in the FAQ as well? However, I will definately make a post on the BTB website once this is working and link to this thread from the site. | |

Only the objectives that are legal for the warband are shown... none had been defined for the Reiklanders. I've fixed some problems with funny races (every race except Orcs&Goblins is funny to me, yarrrr ). Mercenaries should now be able to pick their objective. I have also added an option "Enable all Objectives", which, when activated, allows you to pick any objective for any race. Would you mind going over this list to check whether I got all races? - Quote :

Aye, sorry about that. I've made the warband placeholders invisible, so they don't irritate the user, hopefully. - Quote :

Absolutely. - Quote :

| The Norse currently dont have the option to add the BTB "unit" to their roster. Also note that Norse = Norse. There is no difference between the BTB and the Lustria release (other than the incorporation of the official errata from Town Cryer in the re-release). So there really is no "btbnorse". Also what is "btbbeastm" (I'm asking because Beastmen, again, are not BTB specific as they come from EIF)? Same is with "btbcarniv"? Objectives: Scourge of the Realm: This one includes all Skaven warbands. Army Builder currently has Clan Moulder, Clan Pestilens and Clan Skryre in addition to "Skaven". So they should be added as well. Silent Threat - Same as above, the other Skaven Clans also need access to this. Other than these points it looks really good. I'm very impressed with the automatic Achievements. | |

Those are just the internal IDs of race placeholders (dummies) I made for all races that are explicitly mentioned in the BTB, but which are not yet contained in the Mordheim files I have. Since I try to keep my additions totally separate from the Mordheim files, I use the "btb" prefix in almost all IDs. Hence, "btbcarniv" - that's the Carnival of Chaos, and the "btb" just means that it comes from my file "btb.dat". Since I made those dummies invisible anyways, nobody will see them until the warbands have been added properly. But when the warband is implemented, all places it needs to be referenced at (for example, their connection to the objectives) will be already in place and quickly found. - Quote :

- BTB skills (strength, academy) added. - Experience "tick boxes" added to the printed roster for all units that can get exp, and for the campaign points. (Known bug: heros with attached items (e.g., spells) will show up double.)
If you already have an achievement, your BTB unit will break and be deleted when upgrading (simply create a new one).

- Merchant Caravans added (slightly incomplete, see the FAQ)
If someone (/wave cianty) wants to review it, that would be nice. I'd be disappointed if you don't find any errors!

| It looks really good. I noticed that "Sell-swords", "Blackguards" and "Marksmen" all should be singular like all other unit names. And I'd remove the "Border Town Burning" in brackets after the warband name. | |

| This is all quite exciting. I used Army Builder many years at a Euro-GT event. I quickly abandoned it for two reasons, there were many bugs which included none of the published/known errata for Norse warbands, plus it didn't have any scope for Hired Swords. The latter is an ongoing matter of course. The rest of it sounds like it has come a long way.
I'm presuming the current popular version of the Clan Skyre warband is the one from RotC? Which is the popular warband list for Clan Moulder out of interest... does anybody mind emailing a copy of it over to me, or at least a reference to view/download it...
Regards,
Werekin. | |

| Not yet, it does what I need right now, and I don't know whether anyone else actually uses it so far (even the guys from my own campaign don't use AB yet ). I'll keep at it when I'm bored, but at the moment work is intense, so I'm not bored. If someone wants a specific feature (a warband or whatever), feel free to ask, and I'll gladly add it. | |

| I just wanted to post to say thank you for the work you have put in making this file.
I bought AB for 40k and find it an immensly useful tool for working out new lists and options. This is helping me look through and decide which band I am going to field. Having not even played one game yet I won't notice wrong stats etc but if there is anything I can do to further this project (assuming there is more to do) just let me know.

| Before asking some questions a big 'thank you' for creating and maintaiining these files! However, I have two questions (and probably just not seeing the obvious): In our campaign (see: http://somegamers.blogspot.com/2011/02/btb-chaos-dragon-hunt.html) we played the Chaos Dragon Hunt scenario. Somehow my warband managed to win and claim the Chaos dragon scale armour. Q1: Is it possible (and then how) to registrate this find in Army Builder in the BTB category? Q2: How can I give this armour to my warbands leader in AB? Regards and thanks once more! | |

| I'm afraid I'm not much help but I do know that you'll need to open the ABCreator file and modify the data file to include the item. You might be able to work it out just by having a play but otherwise you'll have to wait for someone who actually knows what they are doing to post proper instructions. I hope this helps for now. | |

| I'm not able to download this file. I would be very interested to see if this supports Merchant Caravans fully. I've found one version that does except for the Trade Wagon. No other database or warband tracker seems to support Merchants. | |

| I'm pretty sure I have the version with all the warbands. There are a few errors in it and I've made a couple of small changes (like allowing goblins to use clubs) but nothing more than that - I would have if I knew how. It unfortunately calculates the warband rating incorrectly which is a pain and if someone knows how to fix it that would be great. When I get back to a computer with AB on it I'll upload it. I'll make it a torrent too - hopefully that way a copy will always be available. | |
