| The new beastmen looks mintier than ever! (especially the bestigors) the minotaurs and the new doombull are weird and the ungors are a bit on the beefy side but all in all theres some sweet bits there! And I'm still supposed to be painting ghouls I don't have time for a beastman warband on the side. | |

| ...well this is a first; a thread to show off the War Bands you're NOT painting...it should make taking photos easier. | |

| I'm working on a Beastman warband at the moment so I was also quite curious about the new Beastmen release. Already got me 2 of the old herd boxes from ebay on the cheap. Will probably get one of the Bestigor boxes too to mix and match and make my champions (even though they are quite pricey). The Ungors and Gors look pretty similar to the old ones (a bit better but also more pricey) and I dont care for the other new models (especially the minotaurs and Razorgor (or "Pumbagor")) are ugly models. | |

| If you project what the recent releases were like into what the new Beasty Guys will be, they will be VERY COOL minis that are made to be easily ranked up for WFB. That means torso, legs, & perhaps one arm as a single piece with somewhat less positioning & kit bashing possibilities than the present offering. It offers a bit less scope for the modellers, but makes life easier for quite a lot of Guys/Gals that play WFB. | |

| There are pics of the sprues on the GW website. The Ungor archers look cool. | |

You are very right, but luckily they are plastics so it's quite easy to cut them up. And them being beastmen it's easy to cover up the cuts with some greenstuffed fur (which even I with my almost non-existing greenstuff skill can do ). - Quote :

They DO look cool but sadly they can't be used in a Beastmen Raiders warband.

| Ungor Archers? Is it time for some projectile house ruling for the beastmen raiders? | |

| @ deaf: If this was a thread about showing off the warband I'm not painting I'd be posting in my deadite diary I percieved it more as being 'thread missing justification in either fantasy discussion or finished mini category' as it's speculating on getting a raider warband based on how the new beastmen kits look. Been itching to get one since EiF came out and the mixed herd didn't make things better. | |

| Well the Gors haven't changed much, just a little more details but I recognise a lot of pieces that are the exaclty the same as in last edition! the ungors look quite crappy to me! more like a Dreg/Ghoul like fashion! not the proud beasts of the wild they're supposed to be! but what's this with ungor archers? beastmen with Bows? WTF? should have given them javelins or so.. also the loss of mixed herds, and the ability the skirmish is really a turn off, it's like a common trend for GW to make WFB armies max out on plain o' infantry units and give them less options for specialized troops... it's really rather sad I think the minotaurs have lot of potential but the 'bulby' look of their flesh and head is a bit strange but check out this guy: how cool is he??!!??!! perfect for a shaman! and about the trend of GW to make models out of one piece is really dpressing to! to me there is no greater joy than to cut up and make new and interesting minis! it's the part of the hobby I like best! (that's why I am so envious on all you guys with those great GS skills!!) to end with an on-topic: I got some mixed feelings about the new beast minis, but the rules are really disappointing, just like the new WoC rules. I think the best option to build a Beatsmen raiders warband is to get the 'old' beastmen regiment box! you get 12 Gors and 8 Ungors so you have just about all your henchmen types (apart from warhounds) for less money than buying the new gors and ungors seperatly! and you get more gors out of it! You can also make most of your heros from this box and a little kit bashing | |

| Those minotaurs are fugly! Looks like the sculptor was a little too influenced by the beefed out videogame or MTG minotaurs.
I don't see anything wrong with shortbow wielding ungors, it gives the warband a reason to field ungors...

| i've got the very old metal beastmen lying around for years ... still mostly unpainted ... sigh ! and now my son wants to start a beastmen warband ... anyone this side of the ocean who wants to part from some ungors and some warhounds for a bargain price ? I agree ; the gors don't look very different, the minotaurs are butt ugly, and the new release boxes of gors and ungors just makes them more expensive ; can't see many difference in the plastic kits ... | |
