| Hm... i refuse to see anything hollywood these days. Thats the same reason I refuse to see 2012 and any of the Transformer movies. BUT, to my surprise, Avatar has gotten really good reviews, even here in sweden... maybe, MAYBE, if someone can convince me it isn't another Digitally Animated American Hollywood movie that is great in the same way a beautifully painted house is. The collours and architecture are wonderful, but the insides look like a crack den. Oh well, maybe I'll give it a shot anyway. After all, I've lived in places far worse than a crack den |

| Heh, the movie is beautiful AND has a wonderful story!
One great attribute that Avatar has is the fact that nothing goes unexplained...Nothing happens that leaves the viewer saying, "That makes no sense!"
It really submerges you in another world... Best movie I have seen in years.

Digitally Animated American Hollywood movie that is great in the same way a beautifully painted house is. The collours and architecture are wonderful, but the insides look like a crack den. That is indeed how a very cynical man whose inner child was strangled by the burdens of adult life a long time ago might describe Avatar. Pretty pictures with a terribly generic central message. It's a big-ass production. It needs to cater to a big-ass portion of the audience to recoup what they've spent. If you can accept that and go for the rollercoaster ride, it's one hell of an experience.

| I'm sorry, but I think I'll stay here in my safe cynical universa Movies today never really move me the way a movie should. Like Tarkovskijs movie Stalker (based upon that WONDERFUL novel and shortstory by the Strugatskij brothers) or Stranger than Fiction (WIll Ferrel, yes, but it is a very serious movie and he acts better than most hollywood a-listers any day). Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go rant about the "youth today" and write an angry letter to the government about banning ice cream and everything with a heart motif. And KILL Hello Kitty (signed with "loyal Taxpayer"). |

But if you're going to see it, see it in 3-D. Don't wait for the DVD

But if you're going to see it, see it in 3-D. Don't wait for the DVD ACTUALLY I was waiting for the closed captioning part of the DVD, but the 3D part & a free pass got me to see it early. While not being able to follow the storyline WAS a disadvantage, the flick is SUCH an INCREDIBLY visual treat that it STILL was a GREAT experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
