| LOOKS GOOD so far...quite colorful. A couple of question: By dipping do you mean doing a wood stain? Is this a former House of Ill Repute...I LIKE that BTW? AND are you planning on basing the building? At any rate, keep up the GOOD WORK! | |

| Yeah , I thought that Wood Stain would be an easy way to give "protective" and "color" together ... and a fast way too. The House should be a "Bro ... the ... l" (I think its the right word) and yes after I found a way to make the colors looks less clashing I'll make a base , full of rubble. This is my second scenery so , I'm try to improve my texture painting skill Bye! | |

| Looks good, the woodwork is very nice! : )
Two notes:
* I'd stick to two, max three different colour and make them a bit darker, les "colourfull", but that might just be taste ; )
* Either cut away the 90° corner of the first flour platform, or support it with a wooden pillar or something like that. Now it seems a bit 'unnatural'...
Hope it helps! ; ) | |

| I'll follow your notes!!!^^(I was stunned by your scenery lol) I'm going to model the extern balcon (I cut following the wood paint) and I'll adjust the intern floor. And after that I need to remove one color ... green or blue , and give some dark wash on all the model p.s. could you give me some tips for texture wall? the next scenery will be more accurated. | |

| Well, on smooth surfaces I put some putty/polyfilla on the walls. Then undercoat everything black. Go over it with a dark version of the colour you want, you don't have to cover all the black, it's OK if it's not completely 100% covered. Then add more layers of the same colour but lighter, less dark. For example: Black, dark red, red, orange, lighter orange. And make sure each layer covers less surface. Its basically dry brushing different layers with increasingly lighter colours and with a decreasing amount of paint (going from "dry brushing" with a lot of paint to really dry brushing with very little paint). Mostly I do: Black, dark colour X, colour X; light colour X. Anyway, that's how I do it, maybe other people have other techniques : ) I hope the wording and description is more or less clear... | |

| Some big pictures of the base and the Wood Paint. Now I glued the Scenery on the base. --- The final idea is to putting a skeleton with a wyrdston on the 2° floor (in the hole with the grate) and some Purple highlights around (and on the base too)... This is like a Reanimation of some sort from a crazy wyrdstone necromancer ^^ | |

| I don't think I've ever seen a wood pattern painted on the wood but it looks pretty damn cool! Nice! Keep it going ; ) | |

| You actually PAINTED the wood grain? Phew, most of us just paint the planks of balsa wood a dark brown color and give them a quick drybrush. But man, your brushwork looks VERY GOOD. Can you give us details of how did you paint that wood grain and what color did you use? Thanks for sharing. Best wishes. | |

| Hi! The wood is painted on the flat surface , like the walls , the colors I used are: Base -> GW Warlock Purple:ChaosBlack mix Then I added those colours in the mix -> vallejo 40 cobra leather -> valleyo 18 flat flesh -> gw skull white Every time i make the mix more lighter I define better the wood lines. I start from the nodes and then I try to make irregulars lines , straight lines that curve near the node. After the highlights I put a black round in the center of the node and that's it! Hope you like! | |

| huh, the freehand wood grain painting is very impressive... completely unnecessary, but wow will that look awesome when finished.
If you paint the rest of the piece to that standard it will almost be like playing in a painting!

| Wow! Those wooden planks look really good! And the purple really catches the eye... I also like your ground floor, the paving looks good, nice and sort of blurry... - Quote :

Is there any other way? I'm looking forward to your next piece!
