Tomb Guardians Scorpion what mini to use?

I have started playing a Tomb Guardians band and have a question about what minis the Scorpions are supposed to use. Directly from TC18 the choice of warriors calls them Giant Scorpions. Later however they are called Tomb Scorpions and under the Living rule described as "small desert creatures". I also note that they do not have the Large Target rule. The price really doesn't reflect most Large creatures either.

So what minis should I use with the current rules? The large Tomb Kings Scorpion? or something smaller and if so what?

Or should they have the Large Target rule and just the use big mini?

judging from their stat line and cost i'd say that they should not have the large target rules, when they refer to the scorpion as a "giant" i think they mean giant in relation to a normal size scorpion. anyway as far as a mini is concerned i'm not 100% sure how big the GW scorpion mini is, but if i were playing them i'd just use that. i took a look at the reaper site and i did find some giant scorpion but they look roughly the same size (and actually reaper minis tend to be a little bigger than GW minis) so i don't know of any scorpion minis that are smaller, but if your determined on finding a mini smaller than the GW mini i'm sure theres one out there.

I always had the impression the scorpions in that warband were meant to be the same size as the plastic spiders from Warhammer Quest. About the right size to fit on 20mm square bases. No real proof of that though, just the impression I got from reading over the warband.

I think that's right. One of the town crier articles suggests using the scorpions from scorpion swarms (which are no longer available), and those would fit on 20mm bases.

Heresy Miniatures has a Giant Scorpion that is the smallest I've seen so far (compared to Reaper and GW's offerings). Still abit bigger than a human as can be seen in the comparison pic (I believe Heresy humans are slightly smaller than GW humans though).

I believe we used "swarms" to represent a model. I believe we used dogs also, I know but we never had a scorpion that size.

As noted by others, they are not a LARGE target like you would see in Warhammer Fantasy but rather "dog" or "rat" size.

I'd agree with a above, as a tk player in fantasy a tomb scorpion would be too large.

I like that one, although it may be a bit tough looking. You can always try a Halloween/Party Favour store. I have seen plastic sets that have scorpions and spiders which would look good on 20mm bases.

You should check on the reaper miniature site. They have a new scorpion mini that is perfect and comes in pack of 2.

Mega Miniatures also have a pack with scorpions of varying sizes (well, actually just two ):

I got mine from Harlequin Games (Black Tree now?). Not surprisingly they look a lot like the ones above without the larger model.
