Help! I want to make a conversion and I need some ideas of models (since I can not sculpt from scratch!) The main idea is to create a new creature, based on the Kroot (40k) humanoid.
Kroot

I'm VERY open to suggestion on the topic. For ideas, the Kroot have been combined with:

Apes

Dogs

Birds

Dinosaur

I was thinking of maybe combine it with a giant spider. Something like...
Reaper Miniature: Spider Centaur (#02620)
Need help for a conversion... 02620_w_1
Need help for a conversion... 02620_w_2

Any and all help (especially where to get the model for the base of the conversion) will be GREATLY appreciated! Need help for a conversion... Icon_biggrin

EDIT: Sorry I posted on the wrong place. Just moved it!

Hahaha cool! Medieval Earthworm Jims! Very Happy

Mordheimer: are you going for an entirely new idea for a human/animal mix or just looking to do a cool mini?

Are you looking to make a new Kroot species? If so, and you're sold on the "arachnikrootaur" idea, then I would recommend the Fantasy Goblin Spider Riders' spiders as the basis for your conversion. They can usually be obtained fairly cheaply in groups of 5 or 10 on eBay. When those figures first came out I remember seeing a Centigor conversion using these guys and plastic gors, which looked really cool!

It will require a bit of modelling though - you'd have to file down the facial features of the spider, and on top of that you may want to add loincloths or belly plates to cover that gap if it proves hard to cover up with green stuff. Generally though, I think these two models (spiders and kroot) are very compatible, aesthetically. The spiders have the same harsh and pointy features as the kroot, and some of them have similar little spines or quills on their bodies.

If you're still looking for other suggestions, what about some serpentine kroot? If you're confident in your GS skills, you wouldn't even have to buy any conversion parts! Just take Kroot torsos and extend them into a long snaking tail.

@Deafnala: Insane worms! Laughing

@MyLittlePwny: I want to work on a new Kroot species... so no matter what I have to do a conversions. Shocked

@Myntokk: I like the name... although is a mouthful! Razz I would consider a 'snake' conversion, but it would be harder to fit to the ideas we have floating around. I will check the goblin spider rider! THANKS!
