Stupid questions for stupid people Empty
PostSubject: Stupid questions for stupid people   Stupid questions for stupid people Icon_minitimeThu 8 Oct 2009 - 13:13

Allright, a while ago i bought the Mordheim rulebook.
Havent played for many years and then my friend helped with rules and stuff.
So now i have some questions wich probably could be answered by the book but i cant find. Or I might just be stupid=)

1. Skill tables. looking att mercenarys skill tables,
if i read it correct it tells me that if i play Reikland/Marienburg yongbloods and champions can shoot but Middenheim's youngblood and champions can't? Right or wrong?

2. What do they mean with Academic in the skill table? Could not find anything in the book.

3. If i buy a group of, say Mercenary Swordsmen in a group of 3, if a want one man to have a helmet all three must have helmets? if one have a certain weapon all three must have the same?

Well, thats it for this minute, more goodies to come, hehe
(And yeah, i'm new to the forum so Hello to you all)

/Stefan

Hi there, and welcome to the forum.

1. Correct, they cant chose from the shoot skill table, but they can use shooting weapons.

2. The academic skill table is on the same two pages as the other skilltables. page 84.

3. All the members of the group must have the same weapons when bying them. But you can have the man with other weapons by himself.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum. Just thought to try make Cavonius' 3rd answer more clearer. Yes if you buy a group of troops, they all must have the same gear. If want a single one to have slightly different gear you have to make him a "group" of his own. The benefits from having multiple troops in a group comes when gaining experience. Hopefully that helps.

Everyone with a Ballistic Skill and a ranged weapon can shoot. Only those with access to the Shooting skills table can get shooting skills. study

I were wondering about the first question, could I change the wepon one a group member later on in a campagn or must they always have the same equipment unless one becomes a hero.

@Paintedpain. Yes you can, although by doing so it automatically becomes a new henchman group. I don't remember how it was with the xp allocation when you split an existing group that had xp though??? Any light on this?

A group must always be equipped with the same stuff, so if you change a weapon, then all in the group need to do so.

When one becomes a hero, he is no longer in the group and may be equipped differently.

Hmm, guess I misunderstood the rules there or thought of something else. But then, is it legal to split an existing henchman group when you've started playing?

Example: 4 marksmen w Bows - 1 group
divided into 4 groups of 1?

Would they have the same xp? As 1 group with 3xp can be divided into 4 groups with 3xp each? Of course at first glance this seems absurd since the overall xp is quadruppled. But then again wouldn't it be reasonable to be able to split an existing group at any time? Any ideas on this?

No need to answer my question. The FAQ said you can't split groups. Would be nice if you could split them though in some way.
