| From www.warhammeralliance.com/forums - Quote :
- Whilst writing a small character timeline, I did some googling for the Warhammer calendar, and found out some interesting stuff I didn’t know before; like our world, the Warhammer Imperial calendar has 12 months, but after that the similarities end;
• Warhammer’s months are 32 or 33 days long each • As well as this, there are 6 holy days that exist outside the months • Combined, this means the Warhammer world year is 400 days long • To confound the differences, the Warhammer week is 8 days long
(If anyone is interested, I’ve included the days of the week and months of the year at the bottom of the post)
Now this raises an important question; how is the Warhammer timeline going to fit into ours? Mythic have already stated Christmas quests will be present (lets hope they don’t sell out with other holidays like Valentines day, like WoW did. Erg.), so the way I see its there are several solutions;
1. Ignore dates altogether, and make the years a non-issue, and hold things parallel to our world 2. Change the fluff to make the Warhammer world year 356 days long 3. Make each day 22 hours long, which roughly evens it out so that the Warhammer world year is the same number of hours as ours (8760)
I think most people would agree that 3 is the most logical choice (I assume the number of hours in a Warhammer day has never been mentioned), but doesn’t that pose the problem of screwing up the day/night cycle, which I swear was in WoW so that its players would know when its dark outside…?
For those who are interested, here are the days and months. Please note that these are a direct copy and paste, but I’ve forgotten the URL I got them from.
Days
Wellentag Aubentag Marktag Backertag Bezahltag Konigstag Angestag Festag (Day of Rest)

The 17th of Nachexen is the first day of spring, and one of three major holy days for the Church of Ulric) Jarhdrung (Year-turn; 33 days long) Mitterfruhl (Spring Equinox) Pflugzeit (Plough-tide; 33 days long) Sigmarzeit (Sigmar-tide; 33 days long. The 18th of Sigmarzeit is the first day of summer, and also the primary holy day of the Sigmarite Church, commemorating the crowning of Sigmar as Emperor) Sommerzeit (Summer-tide; 33 days long) Sonnstille (Summer Solstice) Vorgeheim (Fore-mystery; 33 days long) Geheimnistag (Day of Mystery; Geheimnisnacht, like Hexensnacht is one of only two nights when both Morrslieb and Mannslieb are full) Nachgeheim (After-mystery; 32 days long. | Oh my God... this games-workshop-imperial-pseudo-german gives me a headache It is actually painful for me to read words like "Jahrdrung" and "Nachhexen" But anyway, thanks for posting WBK. I tried to reply earlier, and googled for the calendar, but couldn't find anything. Good job! _________________ | |
