| Yeah, sorry folks, I have been a little distracted lately, again being away for some days, and preparing all the stuff for my move... but I will write some stuff tonight and tomorrow, hopefully getting at least the Tainted Copse and the Avalanche done. Until Friday I should manage to do everything. I must, actually, because then I move and I suppose I will be quite busy the first days in a new home and town. BUT I am not the only one who played, there was even another table, so other may just as well fill the gap | |

| Alright, after quite some delay, here's my second report... On the original BTB table, Pfreck, Ezekiel and me played the Tainted Copse scenario... to me, it seems like the most chaotic scenario ever. For those not familiar with it, the Tainted Copse (not corpse) is a small forest tainted by the powers of Chaos. This causes the trees to move, turn and teleport each round... As we played simultaneous turns again, we moved the sections after each of the phases (moving, shooting, CC), which was a lot of fun First, everyone set up the warbands (of course), with the Merchant Caravan and the Protecorate being on opposite sides and the dwarfs being on one of the free edges. We thought it would be fair to give the short legged stunties a little advantage by not having an enemy to directly pass by. Because of his cart, which would be directly hit and most probably out of control each time a forest section moves onto it, Ezekiel chose to evade the center of the board and maneuvre along the edge to get to his goal. Unfortunately, he chose the side with the Chaos Dwarfs, who did not really bother moving straight forward, but charged the cart with all the warriors in reach... ...while McLimpy (M2 while running in the forest), the gaolers and the bull centaur moved towards the opposite table edge. Suddenly, a forest section teleported close to the cart and what happened? What we all (well, Pfreck an me) hoped for: the cart was hit! Of course the horses went crazy and ran straight towards the table edge. The driver tried to pull the reins and stop it, but without success, so the cart went off into the distant wastes... We agreed that it could not return, but granted the crew the chance to jump off. All the fighters made it, but the ninja landed with his face in the dirt (I suppose he chose the wrong profession). [I have to admit that I really love that cart, it adds so much fun to a game. However, I am not sure if I would want to be the one owning it ] While the cart was moving off the board, the Chaos Dwarf Bull Centaur happened to meet my forces, and the evil sorcerer scorched some of my dogs... Most of the Sigmarites prefered to ignore the enemies in sight, though, and continued towards the other side of the board, only sacrificing expendable members. The brave warrior fighting the Bull Centaur got caught in a moving forest together with his foe and both were teleported all over the place... But the Sigmarite could not last forever, so the Bull Centaur was free to move towards the escape zone, where he met the gaoler-chick. The Holy Protectorate also continued on the perilous path between the woods... On the other side of the board, the remaining Merchant Caravan and some dwarven warriors had a fierce fight. The humans all had to stay alive to keep the number of warriors who have to leave the board in order to win the game. While the fast Chaos Dwarfs did already escape, most of their brethren were still far far away from the goal, as were the humans. Only the Protectorate made steady progress. Suddenly, a forest with Sacha, the Merchant's wizard, popped up next to my archers just after the movement phase. Funnily enough, he was transformed into a pin cushion and the forest then teleported back. Unfortunately, we forgot to take a picture of that. In the meantime, cianty and matt needed our only scatter dice, which was essential to move the forest sections, so we waited... ...until cinaty finally returned the dice... ...so the Protectorate could go the last few yards... ...and win the game This might have been a little confusing, but trust me, the game was. Actually, there was not that much happening between the different warbands, but the moving forest sections made the game a lot of fun, even though it was a bit too much in the end. | |

| Great photos! Thanks for the report! It was really fun reading it. And yeah, the scenario is meant for two players for a reason. We did try three or even four(?) players before but then the forest moving becomes to much. With two players it is just fine and the game ends just before you go nuts. | |

| Haha Sascha, you didn't mind he misspelled his Magician's name then? Damn, seeing this back really makes me appreciate all the hard work the guys of the BTB crew put into this supplement. It's simply great! I think I can never go back to any other supplement now! Great write up as usual, Eli. I'm really looking forward to the Siege scenario report! | |

| Mathieu claimed he misspelled it intentionally on the magician. Same with your name Anyway, I am currently magnetizing the marauder bodies, then I gonna have to pack some more, but tonight should see the avalanche published, so there are two more days to get a nice siege report done for you all. | |

| Welcome to the next exciting report! Cart fun promised! Well, while the „evil“ guys, that is Pfreck's Chaos Dwarfs and matt's Maneaters were jointly plundering a caravan in preparation of the next battle, the humans decided to kick each other's ass in a one-on-one-on-one battle. We chose to play the avalanche scenario, in which a huge avalanche is rolling along from one board edge. I suppose this scenario again is supposed to be played by two players only, because with 3 participants, it's pretty obvious where the avalanche will start, so each of us set up along one table edge. To add more fun for Ezekiel, we had a lot of trees: Then we had the monks coming directly from the snow clad Northern Wastes... ...while the Merchant Caravan came via the road in the middle of the board... ...and the Sigmarites sneaked through the woods and around an old ruin. Of course, everyone was in charging and shooting range, so a fierce battle immeadiately ensued while the White Wall slowly (or rather not so slowly) creeped up on us. The monks quickly closed in on the Caravan, whose Black Guard jumped into the way of the raging peasant horde, while the rest of the crew used the cart as a mobile fortress and shot volleys of bolts and arrows at the monks who were staying a little behind, sacrificing the expendable peasants. At the same time, the Protectorate moved forward. Having fought many a fierce battle against the shooty Merchant, the Holy Forces decided to hide in the nearby wood and wait for a safer opportunity to attack, while the Sigmarite Expendables (my five dogs and a troll slayer) were sent forward to meet anyone foolish (or clever) enough to not be on the cart. Two dogs also tried the good ole' trick of attacking the cart's draft horses in order to have them running wild and pulling the cart into an obstacle. What shall I say? They succeeded... ...and the cart went full speed towards the approaching avalanche Needless to say, the cart did not really manage to get away. Having learned from the previous games, Ezekiel managed to stay clear of some obstacles and even turn the cart 90°, but alas, the avalanche was faster: The cart was buried and the rest of the Caravan fled to keep casualties as low as still possible. Now, the Sigmarite Elite decided it was time to beat up those heretic monks. They hit them hard, but resistance was also fierce, and the avalanche came nearer and nearer. However, no one wanted to voluntarily rout, so both parties kept fighting and fighting, while all unengaged warband members squeezed themselves in the area closest to the board edge. Both cianty and me were kind of excited, I suppose, because it was just a matter of Ld checks and inches between victory and the whole warband being buried by the snow. Eventually, cianty had to rout just 2 inches before the avalanche buried us, and the Protectorate won again! Unfortunately, the last part of the battle was so exciting that we all forgot to take pictures (unless cianty has some). Retrospectively, it was not all that smart as soon-to-be defenders of the Border Town to beat each other up as hard as possible and even send the cart into the avalanche, but alas, we were of course not playing for fun, but for winning at every cost Fear not, though, it all turned out quite good, as you shall see tomorrow... | |

| Hey folks!
Sorry I did not post for a while, but we just had our introductory week at university, which means that I was doing some weird stuff all day and some partying all night... thus, I did not yet have time to write anything (today was the first time I managed to go to the supermarket). But the weekend might be a little more relaxed, so hopefull, it won't take too many days until you can read the final report. | |
