Now I know I lurk on here like a Genestealer within 6 squares of a Space Marine, so perhaps I have less right to comment than all you committed regular forumites, but I think Golden Tom 2009 would be just the thing to bring me out of my lurkitude! And perhaps I'm even not the only lurking beast who might come forth and be counted.

After all, it's summer now for many of us. We need a powerful excuse to stay indoors and get our geek on!

And I have the two next weeks off.....

Ah yes, those are some good suggestions indeed, DeafNala. Thanks for putting me onto those. I think have the components of a mighty "duel" lying around here somewhere.

We're ALSO putting the Bee in Tom's bonnet...or burr under the saddle, take your pick...about the NEED for a new Golden Tom.

Yeah, a new Golden Tom would be nice (says one who still has the stuff for the other two challenges lying around and looking reproachfully at him).

So, Tom, where art thou?

I do hear your pleas my friends, and I am fully aware that GT2009 is LONG overdue.

I have simply been swamped with work (both "in real life" and commission painting) so I have not had the time to properly work out a theme for this year's GT2009.

I have made it a top entry in my agenda to launch GT2009 soon. It will be a late comp this year, but I would hate to have a gap between GT2008 and GT2010.

So this thing WILL have to take place

I'll make sure Golden Tom 09 will be duely advertised (forum newsletter + thread + blog).

Hey guys, I know I have been telling you that I wanted to have a GT09, and that still holds true.

HOWEVER, life has been (and still is) very stressful at the moment and so I have not been able to organise it yet.

We might have a Golden Tom 09 announced in late (december) 2009 with entry deadline in 2010, but I cannot guarantee it at this point.

Sorry about that guys and girls.

I can promise however that I will be doing my best to organise another painting competition on TBMF.
