Hi guys,

A few days ago my friend and I played a game in which my Captain charged another models, and shot both his pistols in close combat. unfortunately he didn't manage to kill the flaggelant, so another turn of combat followed. But we weren't quit sure what weapons my captain had now. His other weapons were a sword and dagger. Does a model with two (or one) pistol use his other weapons in the following rounds of the combat?

By the letter of the rule he now draws his sword and dagger and fights with those.

House rule--In 5th edition Warhammer the model could use the butts of the pistols as clubs, so many players use a house rule that an empty pistol counts as a club for the rest of the combat.

Though I rather use it as a knife – clubs are way to good to "come along" with the pistol

Considering that pistols are not the best of weapons it would be fine by me.

my group has always counted pistols as hand weapons in cc "no concussion rule"
but no penalties , just no special rules like the club.

you should never have a "catch all weapon" in my opinion
if you dont like the hand weapon idea then just buy 2 cc weapons. the rule allows you to switch out pistols after the first round.
