| I know, late with photos. anyway... Week 10 Skirmish (in the Lost City) Ouch, those Trulls shoot a lot. Everyone hide. Look out, shooters in the tower! Fights erupt on both sides of the small building. While the Trull's shooters pick off anyone not in HTH. Too much for the Pale Moon Tribe. Time to retreat back onto the jungle. | |

| Chance Encounter I The set-up puts the Church of Mannan in the center as a dividing line. The undead pick the West side of the church to advance. The Orcs move up to meet them. The Orcs also go up to do some sniping. The troll follows along at it's own pace. The vampire defends himself from behind a wall. But gets attacked by 3 Orcs before support can get there. Meanwhile, this goblin wonders why he was sent to this side of the church. | |

| Week 10 Jungle ambush Amazons must be attackers per scenario rules. This spreads out the small Pale Moon Tribe. Forced to make thier move at night, the amazons are at a dissadvantage on vision and movement. The undead go off the trail and try to dissapear into the jungle. The Pale Moons make for a thin defensive line. The rest of the tribe stumbles in the dark to join them. The undead start dissapearing. The amazons snipe away as they leave. </A> The amazons hold back to gather strength of numbers before making their move. </A> But it's too little, too late. [/url]</A> | |

| Week 11 The Vault Vampire bats are very unwanted company. The new totem warrior goes OOA in the 1st HTH. The bats tie up many warriors for many turns. The Trulls are set to snipe and search. The Trulls captain looks around for that secret entrance. Only 2 spots left to search. The Serpent Priestess, Agamede, climbs up to show how it's done after a warrior fails 3 atempts. This warrior found the secret entrance and recieves hurt for her trouble. Down below, the Trulls' frenzied bad a... heroine tries to charge through the spawning pool and get stuck in the muck. With mounting losses, the Pale Moons decide that this is a good time to leave. | |

| Week 11 Street Brawl (3-way fight) The Trulls and Da Gutrippas set up close to each other, completely avoiding the small Pale Moon Tribe on the far side of the city. The amazons try to run but fall down a lot in the dark for their truouble. (Vision is 8" for humans, 14" for greenskins.) While the Trulls create a bottleneck to shoot from, Da Gutrippas advance. Da Gutrippas create their own bottleneck as their captain stays put to shoot. All the while the Pale Moons move towards the noise. "Hey, I heard something over there." "Everyone, this way." The Amazons slowly make progress as the other 2 warbands shoot each other. Even the orcs can fall down if they run in the dark. Finally the troll charges in and gets surrounded. Trulls keep shooting too. The Pale Moons line up to climb the wall so they can see what is going on. The totem warriors trail behind. They don't want to take the chance of loosing frenzy by falling down in the dark. Orcs charge in to help the troll. Lots of HTH going on. The amazons finally arrive and start shooting orcs. "Hey, where'd that goblin come from?" The Trulls blend back into the jungle as the ladies line up to shoot orcs. The orcs respond by backing out of sight and then shooting back. </A> The pygmy hunter and the totem warriors arrive and pull some orcs out of hiding as the store closes. Da Gutrippas concede the game and the Pale Moons gladly take any win they can get. | |

| Week 11.5--Sundayheim. Lustrian Rain.
"Surprise Attack" The Azure Band of Amazons ambushed the Skaven in the Lost City of the Well. The Rat Ogre was separated from the Skaven heroes but managed enough smarts to move away from the approaching Amazons. The heavy rain and the jumbled ruins slowed the warrior women down until the Skaven reinforcements arrived. The Rat Men drive the ambushers off. Only the rat ogre is reported killed.
"The Deadly Channel" The Guardians encountered the Dwarfs on a tributary of the Amaxon. The Dwarfs lined the northern bank of the river and attempted to shoot down the approaching Lizards. The Guardians used the jungle clad islands and the river itself for cover and launched dozens of arrows into the Dwarfs. Several Dwarfs fell to arrows. A crocodile was wounded by Dwarfen shooting and charged them but it was shot down before it could clear the river. Another beast attacked the Lizard's boats. It was eventually shot down before it could sink a boat. Alt reached the shore and began to carve on dwarfs. Eventually the dwarfs tired of the rain of arrows and the saurus' flashing sword. A saurus warrior drowns. All the dwarfs recover. The Lizards gain great wealth.
"The River Temple" Acacitli, the chosen of Tzunki, led the Guardians toward another of Tzunki's shrines, the Sublime Temple of the Cross Currents. The Dwarfs had the advantage of the current and arrived first. One of the dwarf warriors set off the trap and summoned the guardian. The effect of the trap caught one of the Emerald Spawning that was stalking the interlopers. The skink fell stunned and was dispatched by a dwarfen axe. The Daemon guardian fought the dwarfs but could not put one down. The dwarfs dispatched it 3 times. The boat of saurus warriors took a lucky hit and its rudder jammed. The dwarfs raked the helpless boat with crossbow fire until Acacitli called retreat. One of the Ochre spawning is killed. The Dwarfs recover the other Blood Blade (#17).
Week 11 ends with 7 of the fabled Great Treasures of the Old Ones recovered from the City of the Well. The Free Company have stolen the Shield of Teeth. The Azure Band have escaped with the Star Tablet. The Trulls of Trantio looted the Cloak of Feathers, the Skaven hold the Star Ruby and Those Who Tread... have recovered the Plaque of the Old Ones. The Spida Staff and the Pendant of the Old Ones have been looted but then lost.
Of the Minor Treasures the Trulls have captured the Statue of Sotek and the Dark Elves reclaimed the one of the Blood Blades (#18). The Dwarfs claim the other (#17).

| Week12--Sundayheim. Many Amazons.
We had 6 players on a Sunday. As this past Thursday was a holiday in the States Week 12 began on Sunday. Playtable stopped by to introduce the new players to the Thursday warbands.
"Pressgang" The Pale Moons finally got to the Outlander Port. The Pale Moons were searching for volunteers for their upcoming fertility rites. They appeared in the port on a windy night armed to the teeth. Unfortunately for them some Dark Elves were looking for slave rowers for their longships. The Dark Elves collected the most drunks but the Pale Moons kicked the recruiters butts. The Dark Elves grab their slaves and run. "I lost Ngalla, the Pygmy Hunter, who had 11 exp."--Playtable. No deaths are reported by the Dark Elves (who gained much experience.)
"The Treasures of the Old Ones" (Wyrdstone Hunt in Lustria) The Azure Band faced the Guardians for the second time in the campaign cycle. The warbands were searching for treasure in a ruined temple complex. The pesky plague monks were encountered. Neither warband had much trouble killing monks (although the monks did get an Amazon warrior. The Amazons grabbed 2 of the 3 treasures and advanced on the mass of skink and saurus to the northeast. Atl held his own amid the leaping slashing women, but his saurus warriors fell to enemy blades. Then the Amazons got in among the skinks and it became ugly. The Guardians fled dragging their fallen (and one of the Amazon heroes as well.) The Amazons pay a hefty ransom so the loss does not look too bad to the Guardians... Some Amazons and a skink are killed.
More battles will be reported another night...

| Sundayheim (cont'd) "River Skirmish" The Outlaws of Stirwood encountered the Dwarf Treasure Hunters on the Amaxon. The Dwarfs deployed on the northern bank and began to snipe at the approaching Stirlander boats. The Stirlanders replied once they got within range although a couple were out of the fight by then. The Stirlander's heroes were moving through the jungle on the south bank. The Dwarfs decided to brave the waters and send a small boat out to hunt the outlaws. This removed the Engineer's bodyguards and the stalwart dwarf was immediately shot and killed by a Stirland archer. The Stirlanders withdrew shortly thereafter because of the approaching dwarfs and a pesky crocodile... Despite several casualties the Stirlanders suffered no deaths and gained much experience. The Dwarfs hire a new engineer.
"Skirmish in a Port Town" The Dwarfs attempted to thwart a raid by the Pale Moons on a port town. The Amazons attacked at night which gave the Dwarfs an advantage. There was, however, a stiff wind which limited the dwarf shooting. The Pale Moons advanced into the town until they encountered the dwarf trollslayers and supporting warriors. The Dwarfs were quickly reinforced by a town militia. The Pale Moons defeated both groups. The Pale Moons suffered no casualties, I believe the Dwarfs recovered as well.
"Suprise Attack" The Guardians lured the Dark Elves into the maze of streets and temples that is the ruined City of the Well. The elves suffered a couple of casualties early on but gained reinforcements and fought on. The elves got in among the Skink heroes which is never a good thing for the Guardians. The saurus warrior guard and several skink warriors were cut down. Chimalma fell as well as Itzili. The rest of the Guardians enveloped the reinforcements and the Dark Elves fled. Chimalma suffers multiple injuries (amputated arm, hand injury. chest wound...) The Dark Elves survived intact.

| Week 12.5 The Pale Moon's Lament.
5 out of the original 7 players converged on the Game Preserve last Thursday. Da Gutrippas The Trulls The Pale Moons The Shadow Stalkers Clan Eshin The Pale Moons had edged into the lead when measured by Warband Rating. Their luck failed to hold.
"The River Temple" The Pale Moons sought to loot an island temple before the Trulls could. It may have been night, it may have been windy... Both warbands arrived around the same time although some Amazon scouts and a boat of Trulls tried the southern shore. The Trulls activated a poison gas trap and lost a warrior. With the Daemon guardian on their side the Pale Moons sent reinforcements to the scouts. The Trulls fought off the guardian and began to whittle away at the Pale Moons. The Pale Moon heroes whittled Trull henchwomen faster. Both sides took awful casualties but the Trulls had mainly heroes left while the Pale Moons had lost 9 of 12 with 3 heroes down. Pale Moons run to the boats and flee. 2 of the scouts are killed as well as another Pale Moon Totem Warrior. The Trull leader escapes with Multiple injuries (she hates Amazons now). A Trull Duelist dies. The Trulls find great wealth including (ironically) some Water of Eternal Youth (a minor artifact)...
"Treasure Hunt" (Multi-player) Da Gutrippas, the Shadow Stalkers and Clan Eshin fought over a rich section of the City of the Well. The Shadow Stalkers brought foul weather with them, heavy rain made the dark night treacherous for the orcs and skaven. The Skaven were still the fastest things on the field and grabbed most of the available treasure. The Shadow stalkers lost most of the warriors and zombies they sent into the city proper. They lost all of the treasures they had claimed to the skaven. Fas' Jobba was killed by the Necrarch and Rat Line Fug had his throat ripped out by a giant rat. But Rippa Fil escaped the Vampire's trap and grabbed a treasure to boot. He climbed down a wall and joined the fight against the skaven. Clan Eshin sent most of its heroes to search for treasures and beat up on acolytes, thus only clan rats and giant rats faced the orcs. All the giant rats fell to 'Eadtaker and Robba Rackham. Grootka potted clan rats with his crossbow as the skaven tried to take Nameless down with thrown rocks. Nameless he take da abuse! Eventually the Assassin realized that too many of his expendable troops were down. The Rat Ogre tried to fight ol' Nameless again. Failed to hurt him. Nameless and Rippa Fil kill dat Rat Ogre! Hur! Skaven run away with most of the treasure. The store closed so the game ended in a draw between the Vamps and da Orcs. Skaven get rich again but not so rich they can hire a Rat Ogre... Da Gutrippas find a shaman (and cook) for the crew. Now 8 of the skaven were down--they lost 1 rat ogre, the undead were missing 3 heroes and most of their henchmen--maybe a zombie dies and the orcs had lost only 5 so 2 die! Still a dead rat ogre is a good result.
No Major Artifacts were found in Week 12, but the Trulls now have 2 minor artifacts and 1 major artifact and lead the field in treasures recovered or looted.
Sunday marks the start of Week 13 the last week of regular gaming of the campaign. Maybe another go at the Snake River bridge...

| </A>Treasure Hunt:Da Gutrippas on the far left on the yellow pyramid Shadow Stalkers take the city walls and watchtower Clan Eshin keeps mostly to the low ground and advances towards both other warbands. The Shadow Stalkers main base stronghold. The rat ogre hides behind the trees as he advances and the undead take a beating. Fas' Jobba braves a shot from the walls. And gets double charged for his trouble. (It happened so fast the shot is blurry.) But you can still see Rippa Fil sneaking off with his treasure (by the giant pumpkin), leaving his buddy behind. End result is that he gets knocked down and falls down into the nest of undead below, then is taken OOA. Undead warband members thin out. The rat ogre (looking a lot like a minotaur) breaks out into the open with his entourage: slingers, hired wizard, giant rats. As the last of the undead warband out in the open gets ganged up on. (Just a note; the models on top the the pyramid, tower and building on the right are OOA.) Nameless, the troll, steps out in front like he's told. The rat ogre holds his own until he gets surrounded. Just before the end of the rat ogre. With everyone looking on. The undead look on at the show from their box seats. The End | |

| Week 13--Sundayheim Free Company Woes.
"The Bridge of Doom" The Free Company encountered the Azure Band while preparing to cross a stone bridge over the Amaxon. The 2 warbands were of equal size although it looked like there were more women... Captain de Guzman dueled the Amazon leader with Sunstaff versus crossbow. The Captain lost. X2 Smashed Leg, Blind in one Eye and Nervous Condition with maybe an Old Battle Wound to boot! One veteran duelist and a new duelist are killed as well. A newly hired Amazon dies. The Free Company hire a Tilean Marksman.
"Island Hopping" The Free Company tried the tributaries of the Amaxon and their many islands. This went fairly well until a persistent crocodile grabbed Ensign de Vera off a boat. Despite Senor Montoya's efforts to save him de Vera was pulled under by the croc. Then the berserker Totem Warriors showed up on the central island and things went down hill again. The Free Company withdrew. None of the wounded men died of their wounds. De Vera escaped the crocodile, but lost an eye... Another Amazon warrior dies.

| Week 13.5 So Mean to be Green "The Temple of Doom VII" The Trulls raced the Shadow Stalkers through the deadly corridors of traps to reach another treasure trove. Melderzhus easily reached the treasure chamber first, but his minions blundered about and found themselves caged, snared and riddled with arrows. As Melderzhus reached the exit he turned to see that his entire retinue was either out of action or immobilized due to cages, snares and pit traps. With uncharacteristic resignation the ancient vampire put down the Sword of Rage and traded it for the continued existence of his subjects. "Ambush" Da Gutrippas had made a record haul and were making their way back to the Seahog when the scouts Ragshot and Sheets called a halt. "Deys all round uz! Doxie ta da Pole Sta' and Rat ta da Souf. Mightn't be cut off yetz ta fore an aft, tho' da lubber be closin fass." Hissed Sheets. "Right ladz! For'ard on da double!" ordered Grootka. He and Nameless jogged through the steady rain toward the distant lagoon and the safety of the Seahog. And it all came apart around them... Ragshot cried "dere dey iz, theiven doxies!" He ran off into the jungle on the right. 'Eadtaker stood with his head tilted back drinking in the rain. Sheets cried "wassat yuz seys! Ize bain't no fief!" He sent an arrow after the disappearing Ragshot. Backstika rushed in the opposite direction of Ragshot screaming "big rat! Big rat!" Arrows, sling stones and energy beams cut through the rain. Skaven warriors and Amazon berserkers followed. Grootka came to several hours later. "Hows many finga, Boss?" Backstika was waving his bloody left hand in front of Grootka's face. "Dis many!" growled Grootka as he chewed the newly severed fingers. He wondered if the gobo could still hold a bow... All of the treasure was gone. Robba Rackham, Sufferin Gaz and the new pressganger were rubbed out. Some sneaky bastard had taken all of Grootka's stuff. Granny Trollgit had a bum wing. The rest of them looked worse than they felt. Pieces of Nameless were still crawling in from the undergrowth, but the troll looked to have re-grown the bits that had been eaten. The Skaven get rich again. I expect another Rat Ogre... No attackers die. "Temple of Doom VIII" "Lets just play a quick game with this set up." I hear that a lot when a magic item is the prize of a scenario... The Temple of Doom is rarely 'quick', but its near the end of the campaign and the Amazons and the Shadow Stalkers are the low warbands. Neither has ever won a Temple scenario. Since they played until after the store closed neither has won one yet either. The Shadow Stalkers did get a Major Artifact off the table edge this time... Both warbands were highly entertaining to watch. The Amazons triggered a deep pit trap right in the entrance to the treasure chamber. Warrior after Warrior failed to leap the pit... OK Playtable gave up after the pygmy fell in. A warrior fled down the corridor to escape a Guardian Spirit. She triggered a snare just at the entrance to the corridor. Just for fun Playtable rolled each turn to see if she would rally. Every turn she failed! Her screams probably distracted the pygmy... The undead triggered the falling boulder trap in the treasure chamber. Melderzhus easily avoided the rock but it provided lots of entertainment as it rolled around the room. Nothing is reported killed. Since Playtable can not attend next week's games due to family obligations we will have a pseudo final event at Sundayheim. Perhaps the camera will get out of the car then as well... | |

| Week 14--Sundayheim.
Week 14 has arrived at an opportune time. Everyone is busy no matter which day of the week we play so the campaign is winding down. Last Sunday we wrapped up the Sundayheim series with a 3 player battle in the Lost City.
"Street Brawl" The Pale Moons, Da Gutrippas and the Dwarfs met on a clear night near the Gate of Eternal Possibility. A group of plague monks led by 2 Plague Priests were trapped between the 3 warbands. They attempted to fight their way out piecemeal and were killed. All 3 warbands had the usual difficulty moving in the dark. But the Pale Moons were at a disadvantage because of the superior night vision of the Dwarfs and Orcs. The Pale Moons attempted to pick away at the edges of the Dwarf warband. The Dwarf crossbows moved up and the women ran out of room. The Pale Moons sacrificed too many henchwomen to the Dwarfs to draw the stunted ones into their trap and before it could close the roar of Yo'and's blunderbuss felled the lurking Totem Warriors. An amazon hero got back up and stuck a dagger in Yo'and for his sneaky shot. Then the Pale Moons fled into the night. Grootka thought to hit half of the Dwarf warband while the Amazons entertained the rest of the Dwarfs. His plan fell apart when he charged a clansman and failed to hurt the Dwarf (with 5 attacks hitting on 3s...). The Dwarf's blows connected, despite Grootka's skill with a sword (no parry, no step aside). Grootka took a wound and fell out of action. Without their leader Nameless and 'Eadtaker could not maintain their focus and the rest of the lads fell to Dwarf axes and crossbow bolts once the Amazons fled. The Gutrippas faded back through the ruined gateway. Granny Trollkin loses her left hand to a Slayer's axe.

| Fluff from week 14.
The Seahog A Tale of Battle wherein Grootka's Galley defeats Belladonna's Caravel
“Sail ho!” the lookout grot in the rigging pointed off the starboard bow. Grootka cuffed a nearby grot for practice and bawled, “Clear fer action ye lubbers!” The wild orcs and goblins that made up the crew scrambled to their stations. Nameless the troll roared with pleasure at the prospect of fresh food.
“Bend yer backs and pull ye blighters!” Granny Trollkin screamed at her charges that manned the rower’s benches. The Seahog was pointed dead into the wind but the grots were joined by some of the orcs and the galley made way despite the wind. The Seahog was undermanned. Too many of the crew had fallen in skirmishes on the mainland. Too few new recruits were coming up from the hinterlands. But the hold was full of plunder and the ladz were not about to give it up without a fight.
“Oy ‘tis Black Belladonna an’ ‘er poxy Trulls!” Sharp Eye the lookout screamed. “Ware da boomas!”
As if the Trulls had waited until Sharp Eye yelled, the Trulls’ starboard gun boomed! The shot sailed high over the ship as arrows and crossbow bolts pattered against the sides or lodged in goblin flesh. Grootka and the arra boyz gave them a volley in return. High pitched screams marked the hits. The grots manning the spear chukka put a bolt into the enemy hull but the enemy caravel did not slow.
As the enemy ship closed a long boat could be seen rowing toward the Seahog as well. The Mermaid’s decks swarmed with gaily dressed women waving cutlass and pistol. The long boat was also full. Grootka roared a curse as he realized he was outnumbered 2 to 1 even with the bulk of Nameless to bolster the ranks. Fortunately the women seemed to want nothing to do with Nameless. The Mermaid held off and bombarded the Seahog with round shot and small arms fire. Most days that would have been enough but the Trull’s gunners were off their mark and the tough hides of the orcs were shrugging off the arrow storm.
The long boat had become the nearest threat. Grootka laughed at the idea and ordered the ladz to sink it. The first volley was half hearted as the grots on the spear chukka argued over the right bolt to use and some of the ladz were hugging the decks to avoid crossbow bolts. One of the doxies screamed and fell overboard. Almost immediately fins surfaced as the sharks of the Great Ocean rose to feed. The long boat veered around and a crazy doxy with a gleaming sword hacked apart any shark she could reach. The crew of the Seahog took advantage and sent a proper volley of arrows and bolts into the hapless boat. The spear chukka’s crew were off target with their shot. Instead of sinking the jolly boat, the bolt took a crewwoman square. The impaled body flew into the crazy doxie and the two bodies lay where they fell. The other women in the boat were pin cushioned by arrows. The last healthy girl rowed the boat out of the fight and away from the feasting sharks.
The Mermaid had swung abeam and was sailing north to rake the Seahog’s stern. Ripper Fil glanced over his shoulder as the enemy loomed behind. He winked at Grootka and kept the Seahog dead into the wind. His gamble paid off, though not for him. The Mermaid’s starboard gun exploded killing the crew. Sadly the archers on the forecastle were not affected. Ganger Sot howled and fell over the rail. Ripper laughed, then coughed and collapsed at the helm with a bolt in his back. More fins surfaced around Ganger. Mad ‘Eadtaker the Loon roared with rage, threw down his bow and dived in to hack at the sharks with boarding axe and dagger. Some of the crew lowered the Seahog’s jolly boat as Grootka and the surviving arra boyz plucked archers from the bow of the Mermaid.
The Mermaid sheared off rather than sail into the wind and the arrow storm. ‘Eadtaker duffed up a few sharks and he and Ganger Sot clambered aboard the jolly boat and rowed after the Seahog. Grootka stood on the aft rail and screamed challenges and insults to the disappearing Trulls.

| A very nice and fluffy sea battle report, i like it! Even though the greenskins - normally not a race of ocean lovers - won . By the way, you reported that a cannon exploded, what rules do you use for cannons? | |

| @ Horatius Von Kurst in out of town for the holidays so I'll answer... We use the Warhammer rules for cannon missfires (and blowing up). | |

| Week 14--Sundaymayheim Street BrawlIt's night, sight for the Amazons is 8", for Dwarves and Orcs 14". The Dwarves start at the Snake Temple, The Amazons on their left in the Cantina, Orks and goblins start outside the city gates. Plague Monks, unwanted company, are in the center. The Dwarves start out slow due to their short legs. Because when they run they fall down too!!! The troll is forced to go after the skaven in the trees, while other skaven charge some dwarves. The troll charges in while some orcs squabble and are left behind. The Amazons set up a firing line just out of Dwarf charge range. But it's hard to get good pictures in the dark. As the Dwarves slowly advance, the Amazons slowly back up consolidating for a charge... The initial charge. The Amazons are so focused that they don't notice until too late the Orcs advancing behind them. The Ocs close in and sneak around the corner. Poised to pounce on the Dwarves, the waiting Amazons take the blunderbuss shot, in their behinds, that they thought the Dwarfs were going to get. Teles, the Amazon's best fighter and totem warrior, gets taken OOA and the angry survivors turn to greet the Orcs. After looking forward to pouncing on the divided Dwarves, the Amazons get divided and attacked on two fronts. (Well, one front and one behind.) With no chance to survive they melt back into the jungle. What is left is 2 warbands, both split in half doing battle. The Dwarves gang up to fight the troll! And that finishes off the Orcs. They too fade into the jungle. | |
