| For mordheim, I buy a sheet of sabol foam. Sabol foam trays come in varying depths, but they should generally fit a whole warband without issue. Just get the depth of your tallest miniature (In my case I think 3.5") and you're set. Then you can just take the tray where ever you want and your minis will be safe. As you can see, the trays have little perforated squares so you can adjust the shape by tearing/cutting them out. I then reinsert some of the removed squares but cut them down in height so they support the parts of the miniature that stick out like the arms. I single tray runs 8.00, which is a little spendy. However, they're definitely worth it in my opinion. | |

| I use a metal box (cookie jar or something) and have this really cheap magnets stuck to the bottom of the base of my models and transport them care free around all over the place. Tip for my dutch friends... bart smith sells these 1euro a blister magnet game (sticks and balls) witch contains about 20 small magnets!!! works like a charm! And best of all its cheap as dirt! | |

http://www.thewarstore.com/EconoBoxFigureStorage.html This thread really should be in the Painting & Modeling section. If you give me the okay, I'll move it. Oooh, I might have to buy some of those. I was looking at some other ones but I really don't want to spend a ton of money on a carrying case. Cardboard though? How well do those hold?

"32lb test". Which I believe is meant to be 32 ECT (Edge Crush Test), which means corrugated board edge compresses when 32lbs per linear inch is applied. That means very little... it appears this is about the middle of the pack for single layer corrugated card board (GW Canada sent my last order in a 32 ECT box and it's better than a pizza box). Look around the house for cardboard boxes to compare too... flip them over and there should be a printed circular 'stamp' at the bottom that will list the ECT and packing details like maximum load, ECT information is standard on Canadian boxes, but not US boxes (look for "gross weight limit" of 65lbs for 32 ECT equivilent).

| I know here in the US when shipping some slightly dangerous liquids like flux require a 45 lb test. It holds up really well to basic stuff, but like it was mentioned a strong force in a small area can do some damage. Think really tough corrugated, its card board but will hold up fairly well to say dropping it (usually....). Obviously I have never used these army boxes, but thats my experience from a shipping room | |
