| Greetings all. I've actually just completed my warband, but I thought I'd post the WIP shots ex post facto for posterity, since this seems to be emerging as one of the last holdouts of morheimness (especially with mordheimer's domain being expired / squatted / hijacked / or whatever :p ). I built this with the intent to play with the experimental list as published on Mordheimer. So far I've had one outing with the gang and am quite happy with the project, no matter how they end up fairing in the streets. Most of the old pieces I sourced from bartertown or trades via other gaming forums, and some ebay purchases when I could get them at a reasonable price. So with out further ado, I give you the month long WIP of creating my gang 'The Tall Tales', condensed in a couple posts. Oh and, 'Hi'... I guess this is a delurk too. | |

| Lets start out with some gore for the Cook: Some little C11's to be my youths: Some weapon conversions to an old marauder hobbit and a hasslefree reman for the captain. And some throwing knives for the thief: Roughing in Capt. Minimus: | |

| Incredible work! I love them! Great paint job on these cute minis!
What did you base them on? Looks like some historical kind of 25mm base...

| VERY NICE MIX OF MINIS! Your Band of Truly Vertically Challenged Psychos is REALLY well done &, more importantly, VERY cool. That Heresy Van Halfling mini is one I've been dying to get; your SPLENDID paint job ONLY reinforces this desire. I look forward to seeing all the Lads done up in GLORIOUS living color. Keep up the GOOD WORK! | |

| Wicked paintjobs! I'm not overly fond of the outsized weapons, but that's just my personal taste. I agree with Deaf on the Van Halfling mini, very cool! | |

| Some Grenadier missle troops (with terrible white balance) And a couple from Black Tree: This one is a human child from the Mordheim civilian range. He just keeps tagging along, so eventually the halflings just adopted him. A converted Blood Bowl Bruiser: I originally was going to use boars from the Foundry, but they proved too expensive and difficult to get without buying 4ea $18.00 vignettes, since they only have one boar in each pack. Then I got some from MegaMinis which looked OK online, but pretty poor in person. I eventualy settled on these old Citadel boars: And lastly the villiage ogre- another old Citadel fig I've been holding onto for years: | |

Well they are indeed 25mm bases. Not sure what makes a base historical vs fantasy though. These are laser cut wood from Litko. I don't reccomend them at all. Litko advertises them as round, but as you can see, the resolution of their laser cutter is not that good, and they are actually like 25 sided polygons with visible corners... not circles. :/ Regarding the big weapons- I'm not generally a fan either, but for the cook I just had to use the massive cleaver. For one, he's the best fighter in the list, so he ought to have some f--off-big chopper I thought. Also, as they are dimunitive creatures, I thought the crazed chef might feel like he has something to make up for due to his stature. Sort of like dwarf slayers always carrying silly-big axes. Glad you're enjoying them.

| FANTASTIC! What a TERRIFIC LOOKING War Band! I'm VERY impressed with the quality of your painting, the LOVELY bases, AND ESPECIALLY how you chose a variety of VERY cool & different minis & somehow made them work together SO WONDERFULLY! VERY, VERY WELL DONE! Being mindful of the keyboard, take a bow! | |

| Thanks for the comments all. For the more technical side of things, here are the figures I picked out to start playing with in the initial recruitment. Captain- sword, helmet, pistol crossbow, lt armor Youth- axe Thief- crossbow pistol, throwing knives, sword, rope. 2 scouts with slings 2 scoust with bow 3 piggies 1 warrior with hammer 1 warrior with sword, shield, lt armor. If I recall correctly they came out to 509 points, with an initial rating of something like 88 (I don't have my roster with me here. Here come the skaven! They took over a house right away, but my bowmen convinced this skaven leader to keep his head down most of the game: One on one, a brave little hobbit: Pile on! The Javelinas got an out of action to their credit. Good piggies! I only lost one pig to out of action all game, and he recovered. I sent 3 skaven out ( 2 of which suffered permanent damage. ) , and they failed their rout test to give The Tall Tales Victory on their first outing. Huzzah! Turkey legs and stew all around! | |

| That's an incredibly cool looking warband ! I especially love the thief, both the model and the painting job. I really like the leader too, who looks so serious, he does takes his job seriously, and the ogre, and in fact I love them all, you did a wonderful job And a definitively want a halfing hired sword in my warband now | |

| Very nice warband – you must be quite happy. I wonder though (I think the model was really nice) how you came to give the captain the roman-style clothes, and armor? | |
