| Well my local clubs campaign kicked into high gear this month seeing a lot of gaming done. In the 6th round of games one of our Mercenary players hired Aenur, Sword of Twilight for a game against a Possessed warband. Aenur ended up getting mobbed up on by a 3 armed mutant and a possessed who promptly took him out of action to the mercenary players dismay. After the battle injury rolls resulted in Aenur being Captured. The Possessed player decided to sacrifice him much to everyone elses dismay. The captured result says that his equipment would be retained by the possessed warband. Now the scary part is that he wants to use Ienh-Khain, Aenur's sword on his LGT Beastman who has the Weapons Training skill. Does the swords abilities apply?? And is it 2 handed or 1 handed?? | |

| #1. lol
#2. From the current rulebook:
"Dramatis personae", "experience, injuries and equipment", "Special characters have their own equipment. Only they may use this equipment; it can’t be given to other warriors." Apparently a legendary sword of epicness is worth zilch on the second hand market?

| I think you should give it to him. Part of what I find so compelling about Mordheim is crazy stuff like this happening. | |

| Parry, +1 Strength and crit on 5+ is one hell of a bonus, though. I'd be willing to give him just a normal sword, with one of the above at a time, or fail that, causes fear. He may not be able to use it as well as Aenur, but everyone seems to recognize the blade itself! | |

| Aenur's sword is full of High Elf goodness so would likely burn the beastman's hand if he tried to pick it up. Play a scenario involving a ritual to chaosify the blade before the good guys can return it to Aenur's twin brother (who obviously felt the death of his twin and has teleported to Mordheim to avenge his brother ). | |

Exactly. This is one of those campaign moments that make the cool experience that is Mordheim gaming. I'd let them use it. Or come up with something along the lines of what Catferret suggested. This event has a lot of potential for creating a unique experience that you may still remember and talk about with your friends a few years later and I recommend not wasting it. Have fun!

| Heh. Maybe roll 1D6 each game: on a 1, Aenur's twin brother shows up with a host of Shadow Elf henchmen, determined to exact revenge. The brother seeks whoever carries the blade, and counts as having Hatred towards the bearer. Could make an interesting campaign twist, to add more HE themed scenarios and random events. | |

| This question was asked before on the old SG forum and it was ruled the skills or benefits that go with the weapon are exclusive for that DP only. Meaning you can have the sword but not all the skills and etc that went with it. Others have brought up good points for fluff or story line that the weapon being used by the beastmen would still have the benefits. Talk it over with your group or roll for it and then use whatever you decide for all DPs going forward. | |
