| I couldn't find any other good place to post this, so this looks as good a place as any... When you guys have friends over for some gaming, what snacks do you eat? We're having some people over to play on our new table for the first time and we're trying to decide what snacks to get. I was going to pick up some Doritos or something, but decided that it was too messy on the fingers and would lead to getting powdered cheese on models. What are some good, tabletop gaming friendly snacks? The only thing I've come up with so far are pretzels. | |

| General Shouting might have been the best place for this - but whatever. I bake cookies sometimes for my friends. Don't go popcorn, as you spend the whole time eating from one hand and playing with the other. Tostitos work well with salsa - if you drop some, it just looks like a pile of gore and blood. | |

| Marmite sandwhiches! But really, I find the best thing is eat a big meal just before the game.
PS. This should be in the general shouting section. | |

| Can someone move it to General Shouting then, please? I was thinking chips and salsa/cheese, but I'm worried about dripping it on the table, especially since this is our brand new table. | |

| AND PUFF; it's been moved. At one AD&D game my erstwhile friend, Karen, provided 15 lbs. of Shrimp Cocktail...it WAS messy, expensive, AND WONDERFUL!

| Nice one, Deaf. We had shrimp once before at a game (also DnD, but in a 4th edition) and it was yummy! | |

| those miniature pretzels are what I go for usually. But I agree with Chad, a big meal before the game is the best _________________ | |

| Hmmm, well, I think we're going to start at about noon and play into the evening (making it a full saturday event!). We might end up pausing for a bit to order a pizza or something. | |

| Another thingy that has worked IS, at an agreed upon time, like mid-game, take a munchies & smoke break [your choice as to what to smoke ]. It separates the food from the gaming table AND allows for some commaraderie/smack talk; pizza & drinks is a favorite. ADDENDUM: great minds again! | |

| I've actually found that while playing Mordheim I tend to forget about comparitively unimportant things like food and drink. | |

| We always kept food seperated from our games, playing 3-4 games during a day and taking a pizza/snack break halfways through. Gave the winners from the first games chance to brag and smother their victory over the loser in a good mood (cuz you know, can't be mad with a slice in yer hand - even if you just got wiped) and taunting from both sides of the matches to come | |
