Hey guys!

I recently saw some Reaper models (pictures) and after looking through some models I just want to get some Smile

my question is: has anybody ever used or saw any reaper minis and are they the same size as warhammer minis?

Yep!

I bought this Reaper Elf Archer not so long ago, for my Hired Sword (Elven Ranger):

http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/03166

You can see her painted in the last battle report on Tom's Mordheim Blog

http://bp3.blogger.com/_1YhIuI-flCw/R3WKVhjGWUI/AAAAAAAABqM/JgRyTUhv9Wc/s1600-h/Mordheim+%2812%29.JPG

http://bp2.blogger.com/_1YhIuI-flCw/R3WKzRjGWaI/AAAAAAAABq8/hkkOu10Q1fw/s1600-h/Mordheim+%288%29.JPG

(sorry for the bad quality)

To be honest, I don't like the mini. The elf may look cool on the picture but her head is tilted towards the back, and she's holding her bow like a baby would do... the miniature looks simply bad IMO. I also noticed (too late) that the upper tip of her bow is very fragile and can be bended very easily. I have to be careful when I take her between my fingers because I could break her bow...
Anyway, I don't recommend buying those Reaper Models, because my experience with this Elf was a bad one.

When I saw those Mini's I tought Wow they look nice, but when I had a second look, I seemed to me that the Metal looked a bit weak.. I mean those models look verry nice but the material they made of looks weak to me..

But its a good idea to just buy one and see how it come out Smile

Seems like you never heard of Reaper.
SHAME OVER YOU!

Just kidding, guys.

I have a lot of Reaper minis, and I have to say that they are neither made of weaker metal not look worse than GW minis.
Actually, most of the figures are way better, because the company produces mostly hero minis for RPGs etc.

In case you doubt my words, look:

I agree with Erkwin. I like Reaper miniatures.

But it is also true that the ones that look really good are only the tip of the iceberg. 80% look crap, Tortiou's archer included. That's just my opinion. You have to dig a bit to find the cool ones. But then again I think that's normal when you consider the (almost endless) massive variety of themed miniatures that Reaper is aiming to provide for RPG-players...

Sorry old friend Smile But don't worry, you'll get a beautiful plastic wood elf model from me for free to replace her.

Reaper is a big part of my business. If you want a good Reaper model, you almost have to go exclusively with their "Warlords" line. Their Dark Heaven Legends line (item numbers like REM02097) are the models that are one with their crappy bases... the Warlords (Items like REM14027) come with metal slottas...

Cheers.

I got a lot of reaper minis too, no complaints except the fact that the material could be a bit tougher. But the minis look great. I usually don't buy metal minis from gw, only the plastic kits and then improvise, whatever metal figs i need(heroes) is reaper, looks better.

Doesn't a "metal slottas" slot into plastic bases? thus you are both arguing the same point?

No... the bases (as well as the models) are metal here. Apparently the bases are plastic in Germany... just find it odd is all.

Cheers.

Hmm could be that they are only plastic in Germany. The blisters in Germany are also a little different, all the minis' names are in German.

It's possible; the Distributor that I order from here in Canada acutally does the casting, then sends the models to the US to be packaged...only to receive them back to distribute here in Canada!

Leave it to us Canadians to take the most difficult path possible when trying to accomplish something. ~sigh~

But isn't it quiet a bit cheaper to order from the us right now than ordering from europe because of the weak dollar? I never do the ordering around here, but i was under the impression that we order from the us all the time because it's cheaper. At least with the books/comics for the store i worked in it was like that.
