Honestly, I join so many forums that I should have a copy-pastable introductory text - you know, kind of like a mid year report from a class you don't excel in;

'[insert name] is a pleasant and polite student, who does [his/her] homework to an acceptable level and is attentive in class. However,
I feel [he/she] could achieve higher results if they put in a more concerted effort...'

(note to self: potentially marketable idea?)

Anyway...

Although relatively young, I've had love/hate relationship with both WH40K and WHFB for many years; in that I love modelling, converting and gaming, along with the fluff for both universes, but hate the monitory cost, which I feel more acutely than most, living in New Zealand.

After abandoning the game for a lengthy period of time, I came across Mordheim as a fluff and conversion rich, more affordable alternative to the main GW products after taking a minor peak at Necromunda (which I and my nascent group are also planning on playing - please PM me if anyone knows some balanced rules for Chaos Cults, especially Slanaash.)

As I live a fair distance from my nearest GW store, which I don't believe supports Mordheim campaigns anyway, I have had to turn to the internet for ideas and advice (basically I googled 'mordheim forums' and then lurked for a bit Laughing .)

Primarily I'm looking into collecting a Witch Hunter warband as I positively adore the fluff. Although from what I gather they are not the power gaming band o' doom, that's not what I am looking for!

Regardless, you will probably see my posts obliviosly flooding the wrong forums for the next week or two Wink .

Welcome Whyte!

Yes, Witch Hunters are not necessarily the best warband (are they even moderately good?), but if you enjoy their fluff and style then that's what really matters. I look forward to photos of your warband!

Alright, enjoy your stay. You came to the right place. Very Happy

I've played Whitch Hunters in 4 of the last 9 campaigns I've played in (ah the joy of an area with a strong Mordheim community) and won twice with them. Playing Witch Hunters in a campaign is much more about the "meta" game than the tabletop game.

The only reason I'm definately NOT going to play them in our upcoming campaign is that of the 8 or 9 guys who will be participating, it looks like 3 are going to play Witch Hunters... So now I have to decide between my Dawi or the Sisters (or my Reiklanders, or my Middenhiemers, or my Cult of the Possessed or my Undead, or my...)
