Zombie Love

I don't play undead but I love to have some extra creatures to make my games more interesting.
How many of you will buy extra models to have around just to make things more interesting?

I think many players have extra, "interesting models" around simply because they played Warhammer Fantasy, at some point, in addition to Mordheim. At least that has been my experience. Often, my former Fantasy, Mordheim mates will bring a healthy supply of fun monsters and characters to our scenarios and I'm thankful for the conveinence.

That said, I've only played 40K and Mordheim, so my creature stock is limited to my Mordheim warband interest. Luckily that includes the Undead. I have only 8 Zombies and 4 are painted at the moment. However, I always buy a Battalion box when I start a warband so I'm well stocked to make more.

Sorry I don't have any pics to post...yet. HOWEVER, most of the non-commission thingys I paint, while possibly usable in a Mordheim or some other game, are not necessarily meant for gaming, but are done up because I REALLY like the mini. As I think that Toy Soldiers have the RIGHT to be played with I base up anything I do so that it's viable as a gaming piece. AND it's ALL good practice, which IS a FINE excuse for painting whatever strikes your fancy [feel free to borrow it if you need to justify your painting to a significant other ].

Being a zombie hoarder I usually stock every race I can get my hands on before a campaign,or at the least focus on the races of the other warbands and their metals(hero sniping? me? noo,of course not.)

As I was a WHFB player for many, many years, I own at least 8 different armies (O&G, Skaven, Lizardmen, Undeads, Empire, Dwarves, Elves, Chaos...), so "extra" models are not a concern.

And I like games of "dungeon crawling" too, so lots of "special" models to populate caverns and dungeons.

And "zombie hunt" games are a must too! So lots and lots of zombies to pursue your characters.

And some models more just because I think they are awesome, or fun to paint or game with.

So yes, I'll say I buy A LOT of models to make things interesting

Sometimes I just model completely random models, too. (Like that time that I modeled a Cursed Hillman only to realise that 1) I didn't want to model him in human form and 2) I don't play with any warbands that can hire him. Or that time I made spawn, or the two ogre leadbelcher-pirates, or the dwarven-steam-train, or hellblaster-volley-gun, etc.)
