| Hi all i thought this would be the best website to show my fishmenbasically when i saw the new blood letters the first thing i said was 'i need some of those' and the second 'they look pretty fishy' Now my friends and i are starting a Mordheim campaign and it seemed the perfect setting to convert some fishmenI am using pit fighter rules as they have tridents ( best weapon ever) and are combat focused with little range (bows dont realy work underwater) so without further adoo This was my prototype: basically bloodletter with no horns rounded head, skink fins on arms and a trident made from saurus spear and his old horns, oh and a tabbard from a dire avenger I tried to add greenstuff to make a small head fin and side gill things the rest of the gang- most are armed with coral swords or tridents and bucklers. I think they all need the odd armour plate on the shoulder and i tried a new hilt conversion on my leader- the one in the outstreched pose by putting two curved nid plates on as a hilt guard Anyway to my dilemma do they look fishy enough, i don't know They may need bigger fins on the sides Or maby a new fishier head Lastly sorry for the bad quality pictures, they are my first and secondly thanks for any help and advice on making and improving the fishmen | |

2nd: I really dig your warband and vision.
This is exactly why Mordheim is such a great game.
I wish more people realized how great it is. I know we have a good group on this forum but we all know how hard it is to find hard core gamers for Mordheim.

Again. What a crazy cool idea! I'm really curious to see how this warband turns out in the end. A very unique and inspired idea. I love it! I imagine them looking totally awesome with some scallops, pearls and other small fluffy items.. really really great! - Da Bank wrote:

| Nice warband! You have a lot of imagination! IMHO they look fishy enough. You could maybe add some "fishy" effect when you paint them, like water reflections or small areas of their bodies covered by algaes... but right now they're great! Can't wait to see them painted! Oh and yeah: welcome to the forum! | |

I think the paint job will be the key to making them into fish. They look awesome, and your conversions are sweet. I love the elbow fins. All you need is a sweet fishy color scheme, and you'll be gold! (And Welcome to the Forum! thanks for sharing. I agree that you chose the best website to post them on!)

| Welcome to the Forum Fishman! I had a genuine "WTF!" moment when I saw these - I love them and I could NOT work out what models you'd used! Then I read they were Bloodletters - a genius idea btw - I would never have thought of using them! Aceness. | |

Then I read they were Bloodletters - a genius idea btw - I would never have thought of using them! Ditto on both counts. Not being too keen on Demons I REALLY like the "Fishman" approach. They look Spectacular; very nice conversion work & imagineering. They certainly look fishy to moi [ ]; may be you could drape a bit of seaweed on the lads to emphasize where they are coming from [check an aquarium shop for plastic plants]. For some short ranged missile support, you could opt for the Skink style & add some javelins/harpoons & nets. It's kind of poetic justice. WELL DONE; I look forward to seeing them in living color!

| I think the Bloodletters are turning out to be the new flaggelants, if you get my drift Rigtheous conversions, and with a fishy and slimy paintjob, they'll be just perfect. | |

| Wow, that is impressive feat of imaginative modeling! I think the prototype head looks awesome and if you make those side gills/fins on them all and add webbing between all their claws they would look perfect! I might have to steal this idea for a Deep One warband myself! They look just like the creature from the black lagoon, which is the look you should go for! Blue and green or aqua should be the main colors on your palate as i see it.

| Have just tried converting the heros with unique fins as i thought my fishmen would have an easy way of distiguishing rank by the size of the fins, but i dont know if some of them are over the top. Leader: Veterans Youngbloods And finally is this head fin ok or should i try and green stuff them all? OR And on the above picture ,should they have tails? my friends say no but i dont know Thanks for all the input Fishman | |

| yes, they can have tails if it looks right.
The river that runs through Mordheim is polluted and either fish or men that jumped in the water after the comet striking the City started to mutate.
Maybe the Veterans could be painted a certain color to note who they are. You also don't want to add too much stuff.
It is a hard balance.
Keep up the great work and photos.

| I think the green stuff fins are the best looking. I notices that your fins point forward, most fish have fins that point back, so the are more hydrodynamic.
I do not like the tails personally, it makes them look to much like Lizardmen. If you do tails they should be more fish-like, and less serpent-like.
Oh and i see no reason you couldn't use the Ogre pitfighter, model him as a sea troll, lesser cthulhu spawn, sharkman, giant squid monster. Whatever you choose i'm sure that the underwater realm has it's ogre equivalent!

| I would tend to agree with Pathfinder; i.e., your Green Stuff work is superior to the add on parts. I REALLY like the idea of the larger fins on the Heroes; it seems an appropriate way of denoting the leaders in a natural way. Reaper makes a Wereshark that you might consider for an Ogre. This is most definitely ONE UBERCOOL WARBAND! WELL DONE! Now get painting! | |

| On the subject of thier fins, i imagine them to swim with thier arms outstreched so their fins on thier arms are pointing the right way , by tonight i should have all fishmen greenstuffed and by tomorrow they will be undercoated
But i will not be painting them right away as i want to paint them well, so i will be painting a test saurus (i have a spair) in the colours i want then will post it maby tomorrow
thanks Fishman | |

| Really awesome. I prefer the Bloodletter head to the Lizarman one. Another little thing you can add is webbing between their fingers, using Greenstuff. | |
