Official Citadel Miniatures for Mordheim

Foreword
I've been wanting to do this for a long time. At first I planned on creating a website for this but I think this is a nice and useful reference thread, especially for those who were not around from the beginning. Please post any comments and suggestions for improvements that come to your mind. I will not be able to post everything at one so this thread will be updated over a few weeks.

About
This "index" contains pictures of the original miniatures for Mordheim released by Games Workshop. The entries are ordered by publications (Rulebook, Annual, Empire in Flames, Other). Click on the spoiler below the warband entry to see the pictures of the miniatures. Click on an opened spoiler to close it again.
Note that all images are official GW photos of how they advertised their miniatures.

Mordheim Rulebook

use miniatures for mordheim games - [Reference] Official Citadel Miniatures for Mordheim Posses10 Cult of the Possessed
The Possessed. The Damned. The bogeymen. These scum are the worst of the worst. They are dangerous creatures, perhaps more so than any other group in the entire city. This Chaos-worshipping scum consists of mutants, Beastmen and cultists, and even worse things called the Possessed. If you ever let them get close to you, you’ll be in big trouble – there are few who are a match for this scum in close quarters.

Spoiler:

use miniatures for mordheim games - [Reference] Official Citadel Miniatures for Mordheim Marien10 Marienburgers
The rich boys of Marienburg. Never turn your back on them. I’ll grant them this: they are completely ruthless and have more money than anyone else – hardly surprising, as those fat leeches in the Merchant’s Guild fill their coffers. That’s why they have such good armour and weapons, and usually a few more men than most as well. Don’t let their fancy clothes and flash jewellery fool you, though. They’re not wearing those weapons just for show, they know how to use them as well!

Spoiler:

use miniatures for mordheim games - [Reference] Official Citadel Miniatures for Mordheim Midden10 Middenheimers
These Northerners are nutters, madmen, berserkers! They are as strong as Ogres and meaner than Orcs. Watch out for them in close quarters – the chances are they’ll crush your skull with a hammer or behead you with one of those hefty axes they carry around with them.

Spoiler:

use miniatures for mordheim games - [Reference] Official Citadel Miniatures for Mordheim Reikla10 Reiklanders
Ah, Reiklanders, the finest of men! Disciplined, magnificent archers and good, solid warriors! Reiklanders need the best leaders, so you’d better shape up boy! For these warriors are good at almost all the skills of war, and they are more likely to hold their nerve than others in Mordheim.

Spoiler:

use miniatures for mordheim games - [Reference] Official Citadel Miniatures for Mordheim Sister10 Sisters of Sigmar
Don’t believe everything those Witch Hunters say about the Sisters. They’re no more heretics than I am and I’ll skewer any man that says different. Not that the Sisters need looking after – they’re mean fighters and you gotta be tough just to live like they do in that big fortress in the middle of Mordheim.

Spoiler:

use miniatures for mordheim games - [Reference] Official Citadel Miniatures for Mordheim Skaven10 Skaven
These are no ordinary vermin - big as a man, fast on their feet, and smart too, not like common rats. The whole city’s full of ’em and the worse of it is they’re waitin’ in the old drains and sewers, watchin’ for a chance to catch you on your own. Let ’em and you’re a dead man.

Spoiler:

use miniatures for mordheim games - [Reference] Official Citadel Miniatures for Mordheim Undead10 The Undead
The Restless Dead plague Mordheim. Zombies, Ghouls and huge hellhounds prowl the streets, and woe to anyone caught by them. He’ll be eaten alive, or end up as one of the walking corpses himself. I lost my eye to one of the fanged horrors who leads the Undead. Let me tell you, that thing was not human. I put my sword through it and it still kept coming.

Spoiler:

use miniatures for mordheim games - [Reference] Official Citadel Miniatures for Mordheim Witchh10 Witch Hunters
Witch Hunters will burn you and your warband if you give them the slightest reason. They are well armed and equipped, and show no mercy to anyone who dares to stand in their way. They are followed everywhere in Mordheim by a rabble of fanatics and those crazed Flagellants. One word from a Witch Hunter and they’ll tear you apart, burn you, decapitate you and excommunicate you from the grace of Sigmar.

Empire in Flames

use miniatures for mordheim games - [Reference] Official Citadel Miniatures for Mordheim Beastm10 Beastman Raiders
Beastmen are brutish creatures, the Children of Chaos and Old Night. They roam the great forests of the Old World, and are amongst the most bitter enemies of mankind.
The raging power of Chaos has given them a ferocious vitality which makes them shrug off ghastly wounds and carry on fighting regardless of the consequences. Even the Orcs are comparatively vulnerable to damage compared to the awesome vitality of the Beastmen.

Spoiler:

use miniatures for mordheim games - [Reference] Official Citadel Miniatures for Mordheim Carniv10 Carnival of Chaos
o one knows from whence it came, the dreaded Carnival of Chaos. Some have rumoured that it was once a gypsy caravan from the east of the Empire, wandering folk that brought their colourful fare from village to village entertaining the poor rural folk of the Empire with their lavish shows and stage plays. If this past is the truth then what it has become in the present is far more sinister and deadly. Still it wanders the rural backwaters of the Empire, in a colourful cavalcade of wagons, its folk dressed in the colourful finery of travelling players, bringing sonnet and song to excitable villagers and peasants.

Thank you for the thread Cianty. VERY useful, especially since newer members love to ask "is that warband official?" Very Happy Thanks for taking the time!

NB: The orcs are missing from the Annual section of this thread.

Don't misinterpret this thread. This is meant for those miniatures who have been officially released by GW for Mordheim warbands (and Hired Swords, Dramatis Personae in the future). This is by no way restricted to "official warbands". There are e.g. official miniatures for the Amazons and Pit Fighters warbands although both of them are unofficial. So, again, this thread is not a list of what is an official warband (this can be found in the Mordheim Rules Review document), it's for official miniatures.

Those models sculpted for the Elf warband are f**king gash. Take them down now Cianty or might have to grow a beard again to hide my heritage. Sad

Well I think I remember having read that they were produced for Warhammer orginally but then not used "for some reason"...

@cianty One of the MANY things I admire about you is your Loyalty. To a lesser degree, I tend towards "company" loyalty myself.
I've REALLY enjoyed browsing through the minis. GW has made SO Many Stunning pieces over the years. MY DUMB QUESTION OF THE DAY [not that I limit myself to ONLY one dumb question; there are normally a myriad of them Suspect ]: Now that GW isn't supporting Mordheim, will all these minis continue to be available?

Have a look at the Online Shop. Many miniatures, let's say 'most', are still available. Many, however, are only available through the Black Market (read ebay) for insane prices. Especially the Kislevites, Ostlanders and Averlanders are very rare. The Mordheim Witch is also quite rare I think. In general ebay is the way to go: it's the only way of getting the models that are no longer available from GW and those that are available, well, you can get those for a cheaper price than from GW.

Hmm, it waste some models for the Amazons Warband : the first minis are in one piece (not 'customizable'), and I have all of those, perhaps I can take a photo Smile

And what about the Hired Swords and Dramatis Personae ? Embarassed Razz

I have noticed that with some of the human merc war bands, they have a model on horse and a dude with a sword a shield. Never seen those before. Were they made for Empire in flames supplent? Also there is that warrior priest with arm our, shield and hammer. Whats the story behind him. Never saw him before either and I want one. He looks awesome.
