Warbands of Kodsticklerburg: Skaven, Dwarves

I finally got started on my Mordheim gangs. As I received a couple of Skaven in a trade already painted I thought I would start with them. Nothing too fancy; old plastic Clanrats as well as the versatile newer sculpts (none of the "official" Mordheim sculpts). Three identical old skool clanrats:

Those four plastic guys at the end look like the classic 'official' Mordheim sculpts to me. (They are the same minis that came with the old Mordheim box set)

The tails are always breaking off.

Oh that's neat. I got them second hand in trades and I am not familiar with the Skaven range; I just assumed they came from the current sprues. The 3 finished Skaven at the top are HUGE compared to them.

Maybe the black skaven are worth some conversion work or a metal model for the sake of differentiating them from the henchmen

Also, is true that the tails are a headbreaker

Well... they will be painted black...  .. but I will have to do something to differentiate them from the others. I am thinking that I might have to see if I can pick up a couple of Stormvermin sprues and combine bits with the clan rats or night runner sprues to get a suitable distinctive model for the Black Skaven.

I finished up a few models.... both night runners with slings:

I bought a skaven sorcerer cheap online, gave his base some grey stuff flagstones and now he is ready for priming:

The Rat Guy, finished, in the works, & as a group look SPLENDID. The panted ones are BEAUTIFULLY DONE!

That's a nice, clean paintjob on the Skaven. And the Dwarfs look like they are fun to paint up, good luck with these!

The last of the Rat Guys painted up SPLENDIDLY...I love the rat clinging to the staff. All you need now is a Group Photo. VERY NICELY DONE!

The dwarf sculpts are pretty interesting. too.

Yes, I quite like the Dwarves- I like the renaissance look. The Warmonger line is their "Swashbuckling Dwarves"  ; they also have a Norse Dwarf range.

I like how the skaven are painted in light colours and still "feel" right because of the colour choice. And the short ones go a very different way and look great as well!
