Tall's Cutthroats & Ne'er-do-wells

Hello everyone,

In this topic I will post all miniatures that are part of my warbands, and perhaps some that are not. I am currently working on piraty Marienburgers/Reiklanders, Tzeentchian Cult of the Possessed, Clan Eshin Skaven, and Necrarch Undead. And Witch Hunters. I also have Witch Hunters now.

As a start, here's my mercenary captain:

That's the old undead pirate captain, right? Good use for a piraty Marienburger.

OUTSTANDING! That is a TERRIFIC miniature. You made it more so with some WONDERFUL brushwork & basing. VERY WELL DONE!

Though he was released together with the Sartosan Vampire and the Pirate Zombie, I believe the Sartosan Pirate Captain was intended to be very much alive. Thanks for the replies!

You've made some great models there but its your painting that has made them piratey. Well done! I love to see the base MH models used well. I still have a big stock of them for projects like this.

Those are some SPLENDIDLY painted & based Scurvy Knaves. You really do have a flair for swashbuckling, kit bashing pirates. OUTSTANDING WORK once more!

Most of it is my own sculpt, with some bits and weapons thrown in.

The thing about making your own miniatures is that you have a unique piece that says exactly what you want it to...this one is saying something sinister. EXCELLENT sculpting & painting.

I like the choice of blue and yellow; a nice change from the red robed cultists we usually see.

That's not a bad bit of sculpting there -- & I really like the yellow arrows for a Tzeentchian cultist. It's a really distinctive feature, & the sort of thing that can really help tie a warband together. The chaos star on the hood is an especially striking feature.

The Lads look the part of Scurvy Pirates. VERY NICELY DONE!  

Very piratical. I used one of the same head-swaps to improve the handgunners, so I approve of that -- & those stripy pants are rather fine. A very stead hand went into that, if I'm not mistaken. & a vicious looking bosun too. Yarghh!

The paintjob is fine. But looking at the already mentioned striped pants, the eyes and especially the anchor-tattoo, I believe you are far from the top of your game with it.

I can see, & I like it! It's really good work, especially considering how much of it I'm assuming is your own sculpting (as with the Magister). The whole thing works perfectly as a Tzeentchian mutant -- well done!

The Big Bird looks FANTASTIC. GREAT WORK!

Now I can see it too - good job. The robe is a little plain, considering you were able to pull off this nice freehand-chaos star on the scroll.

I think I like the plain robe here -- it leaves the body solid, & puts the focus on the head & hands. Stops it from becoming too busy or messy. But that's a matter of taste.
