I am looking for the Mordheim - Unreleased minis.

I collect Mordheim and have around 176 different minis till now, but start only 2 month ago.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you know that these are recasts, besides the fact there is a treasure trove of minis.

The choice and numbers of minis is the most obvious signal. Then, when you focus on certain features that has to do with casting procedure, you see the other clues - e.g. gloss surface, cutter marks...

Well damn, I had already 'watched' some of those models. I'm sure that Jester will still sell for a fortune.

I cannot judge every mini, but given the circumstances, I'm afraid all the stuff are recasts.
Have you ever seen anyone on ebay before, who was selling whole unpainted undead warband with every sigle mini including very rare ghouls and even Luthor the Huchback which was almost oop in time the Mordheim came up?  

Just for example - check the weapon sprue and the cutters mark on the remnants of pouring channel

be warned about these Seller. In the the Yahoo Group collecting citadel miniatures was a discussion about him and some people who bought miniatures from him told us, that the miniatures are recasts. And all above have right. look for some strange signs like glossy surface, cutter marks etc.. And many people can identify old miniatures (if he has it on hand) on the material

ah crap! I already bid on some of those minis is there a way to cancel ebay bids if the items are forgeries?

Too bad the items are recasts, I've been looking to buy the set of the original zombies.

I wouldn't mind buying recasts or third party miniatures, if the details weren't that smudgy. All of Morrigan70's minis seem to have lost their fine detail. If someone could get their hands on the original molds and continue casting from those, he could make a good living.

I was watching those as well. I don't think it was possible to tell from the photos how high the quality of the figures were. The main thing is that, as mentioned earlier, several people on the Collecting Citadel Miniatures yahoo group had bought ultra-rare figures from this same seller in the past, only to watch him sell the same figures again and again.

I avoided the auctions. You could buy the unreleased stuff for quite a bit cheaper than usual, but it wasn't worth it to me. It undermines the integrity of our collections.

But I definitely watched the auctions with interest.
