PostSubject: Pulp City   Sun 20 Apr 2014 - 17:14

So, I got kind of involved into the Pulp City kickstarter, and I wanted to get a head-start on some cool scenery for the figs...
First off I made a bunch of palettes from wooden coffee-stirrers .
Three sets in total, different sizes and lay-outs.

And since I don't have Pulp City figs yet, I used my Ork for the size-comparison

And I decided to make a small taco-stand/building :

Horror-vacui obliges, I covered those large white areas with some graffiti.

And for something different, I looked up California concert-posters from the 80's

And again the Ork :

Glad I got those out of my system... kind of inspiration-less for the next builds, but I've still got plenty of time left Very Happy

Palettes look great and the taco stand has so much flavor (terrain puns are the best puns)! How did you do the graffiti?

FANTASTIC STUFF! The Taco Shack is especially cool & very Tex-Mex...there are an abundance of those little places around here. The Graffiti is OUTSTANDING...I've got to do some of that for the Shanty Town. I'm looking forward to the developments. VERY WELL DONE!   thumbsup

Thanks for the nice comments!

The graffity is pretty easy to do actually...

Google-image-search for graffiti, select the ones you like, resize, print, very carefully cut out along the edges, soak in PVA and glue into place Cool

Might be a while before the next updates though... I'm kind of lacking inspiration at the moment

No new terrain (yet), but the Kickstarter has been delivered, and I have painted up most of my warband :

Grimminions

The impressively imposing powerhouse Grimm BunBun

Grimmbiote, Supreme Grimm and Grimm Lee Chan

Gravito Grimm, Grimmrock and the Toxic Grimmvenger

And finally Spartagrimm :

To-do-list : the leader of the gang, and then I've painted up all models I got in this Kickstarter.
Inspiration is already starting to bubble inb as far as possible new terrain pieces are concerned...

De hele infestatie tesamen :

Mmmmmh

I've been neglecting this particular version of my terrain-building-bug...

Not good at all, especially since a couple of the guys at my club are getting ready to give the game a couple of tryouts...

So lately I've been lucky at a second-hand-fair, scoring a truck with two containers...
Removed the truck and threw it away as it was way too big scalewise, but I did paint up the containers, with a couple of 80's movie references :

With the crate that came with the truck, and an old 40K barrel converted into a small homeless-bonfire

And since I was in my 40K bitzboxes, I found a couple of tropical trees, which I gave some nice bases :

And since I started out with the trees, I dug up a couple more :

And all of the scenery, infested by a real Grimmvasion

Thanks!
The next building I am thinking about will be a garage/chop shop...

In the meantime, a small update...
I removed this from a matchbox my youngest was planning to sell on a flea market...
In 28mm-scale it becomes a nice crate.

I filled it up with cheap rubble and put a cloth over it... added a logo which suggests it contains the equipment of some mad scientist purrrrfect for Pulp City Wink

I'mm sorry I'm not very participative as of late...
Real life is wearing me down, and I beraly find the energy to work, help kiddies with homework, cook and keep the house clean.
I barely find the courage to start up the laptop and surf a bit around on the interwebs.

Did find the time for a game last week however, and it gave me some extra energy to start painting again...

But first a nice lil' car I spotted in a shop on my last trip to Bruges... Couldn't resist it as it fits perfectly in the Pulp City setting...

And I got a wee bit creative with cardboard, newspaper, paperclips and milliput to make some roadblocks :

And I also made some benches from coffe-stirrers and 40K Imperial Guard track-wheels :

All the new stuff together :

And the first part of my Crisis-scenery-loot is finished...

Some Catachan trees 'converted' inso California palm trees :

A small crate I spotted on the second-hand stands, with two large skips from Ainsty Castings (whom handled a mean pound-to-euros ratio by the way) :

I also bought 4 vending machines off of Ainsty gbut I realised I don't have anough buildings to put them up against...
So I glued cardboard bits, newspaper, coffe stirrers and one single teeny tiny 40K vehicle bit to a cardboard box:

And with paint :

The back of the garage :

And the sides :

And all the new goodies in one piccie... I'll paint the vending machines later :

Immediately gave him (her?) a couple of layers of paint : Grimm Digger

And with all of his buddies :
