lol!  I love the name of the cannon! (I'd get the ship's gun looking one from the BfSP though.)

Nope! It's the Dwarf Cannon/Organ Gun. I'm saving the Organ Gun barrels to festoon the Grudgebreaker with swivel guns and broadsides. Wait a little more and I'll get working on her Wink

When BfSP was out I swap all the dwarf stuff for the Night Goblins.

Yes...I've to admit that, my first army is O&G  The Grudgebreakers 2194
But when I got the Pirate White Dwarf I couldn't resist. I had to press gang a few more dwarves Smile

Thanks for the many pics Godfather Viktor! Very much appreciated. I love the idea of pirate dwarfs, very cool.

If I may chip in with some small painting advice on top of that: especially for dwarfs with their prominent beards you can get amazing miniatures if you do 3 or 4 careful layers of drybrushing on the beards. If you want a red beard for example, you start with some red-brown color (something like GW "Dark Flesh") and then progressively add orange and drybrush the beard with each new shade.

Washes are not absolutely essential here, unless you want to do them early on. Make sure your wash is perfectly dry before going on with drybrushing lest you completely ruin the paintjob.

And here is something I have observed over time: you want to do your final drybrushing layer (the lightest one) not with pure orange, but with orange mixed with a little beige (e.g. GW "Bleached Bone" or Vallejo "Arena Oscura").

This will create a much nicer organic highlight, whereas using pure orange will usually make the beard too flashy an unnatural.

Keep up the posting!

Great work so far Godfather Viktor; I've enjoyed seeing the crew and their exploits in the Battle Reports section as well- I've never been a fan of the original Dwarf warband models, but really like the pirate-y side you've gone for.

Can I ask what model you used for your Pitfighter, Gregorius? It's a great one that I wouldn't mind getting hold of for any pirate themed warbands I run myself Smile

It's the Sartosa Pirate Captain from GW - sadly it seems to be out of production now. You may be able to find it on eBay or something! The Grudgebreakers 665330

Thanks Tom cheers I'll keep your advice in mind next time I've to paint beard/fur Wink Though, to be honest, I don't think there will be any dwarf on my panting table anytime soon.
