The City of Dunbrough

I've been lurking here for a while, thought it was about time I posted something. You may be familiar with some of my work from CMoN, but here I can post more pics, better details etc.
Up first, something new!

These have been done for a couple of months now, but I really haven't gotten a chance to shoot them because of crappy weather. However, late winter in Michigan right now is glorious, so I got out to do some shooting today.

This is a sset of two shops that were once neighbors, which over time built their shops into each other, making one big building. One building sells silks and does tailoring, the other sells Elven wines, and maybe some covert business for Elven interests in the region.

As always, carved from foam insulation and foamcore, card roof, carved foam roads, woodland scenics greenery and scratchbuilt wire and clay trees. Minis are all Reaper, beasts from Gripping Beast.

Crazy, look at all those tiny details, excellent work on those timberconstructions. From the shindels to the rubble on the street, just plain awesome, i am NOT worthy.............

amazing, we are all happy, you decided to share some of your work. I hope it will be not the last one. Your terrain looks super realistic. I like the great window a lot. How did you build the coloured glass?

Well, it's basically wire mesh, with Woodlands Scenics water effects spread into the gaps of the mesh. Once dry, the glass got colored with felt tip markers.

I have seen some of your pieces on C.M.o.N.. Your INCREDIBLE craftsmanship & attention to detail are easily recognizable. WONDERFULLY WELL DONE!

Im about to start building a whole new set of buildings for Mordheim, and pic's like these are great inspiration.

I've had this little finch house floating around for a couple of years now, and have tried on several projects to fit it in somehow. Finally I just decided to build a project around it, and so I built a little corner shop from it. The toughest part of this building was the roof, the building is shaped pretty much like a baseball home plate, and designing a roof that looked ok took a few hours. Other than that, this one came together pretty quickly, took about 2 months start to finish.

That is just BEAUTIFUL & INCREDIBLY REALISTIC...as I hit the first finished photo after the W.I.P.s, I thought for a moment you put up a pic of an actual building you used as inspiration. I LOVE all the interesting angles to the Beasty. VERY WELL DONE!

Yet another amazing job! Awesome! I love the uniqueness of your buildings. They're so charismatic. Also, the fact that you take very good pictures of them outdoors using natural light really helps. This way, the houses get the proper treatment they deserve.

When do we get to see a "family photo" of all your medieval buildings?

For those that asked, here is a pic of the town all together, minus the birdhouse since I hadn't built it yet when this pic was taken. I'm closing in on this being finished, just a few buildings left, then an open air market near the foot of the prominence.

I can see your civilians coming out, still in unpainted mode. They should be fun to paint!

i really needed some moments until i realized that the painted houses are not pictures of real houses.

Now that i realized it i can only write that your work is breathtaking and and the shown houses are real pieces of arts.

I believe it is a dream of everybody to own such a collection of masterpieces.

I agree. In any case it is my personal favourite of a TBMF-forumite (even though there are some more really great other tables here). Cannot say more than that!

That is absolutly amazing ... i had the same reactio as Deaf, when you look at the buildings taken outside it takes a few seconds to realise it's a scale model ...

I'll never set my bar quite so high but that is really amazing!

This will be a bit of a walk in the past, 5 years in fact, to the first building I made for the city. Had no idea what I was starting at the time. It was a copy of a Warhammer promo building from their website, I saw it and figured I had to try, it looked so cool. I started it around Christmas 2006 and finished around St. Patrick's 2007, The Boars Head Tavern.
After I realized I was in fact building a whole village, I went back and re-based this one on to an mdf base to fit in with the rest of the buildings, it had always just been an odd shaped foam base.
