A small marsh

A while ago I made a small marsh for use in WFB and Mordheim. It's based on an old CD, and the ground is made from Milliput. Glue on sand, paint and then the water is just sprayed on gloss varnish. After that I hit the edges with matt varnish and added grass and leaves.

Eerily realistic marshy scenery right there! You can imagine a one-eyed swamp daemon concealing himself in this terrain...

Any more to come?

VERY NICE water effect...it actually looks like it has depth to it. Now you just have to do the rest of the swamp.

This is great, the leaves are a really nice touch and I like the way it looks muddy around the bank
I find that CDs are a bit fragile to use for basing things on, not that they break but that if they take a knock than the putty/milliput/stuff chips off raeally easily ..but perhaps I'm a bit too clumsy

@werekin: There may be more to come, I've got a few more ideas for similar marshes, designed to fit my Nurgle cultists.

Warseer has been the target of some massive malware attacks recently, that's why they're down. I have however posted my stuff on other forums. If nothing else you can almost be certain to find my stuff on The Herdstone, a beastmen forum which is my virtual home and where I'm part of the moderator team.

@smokezombie: Thanks. I haven't had problems with CDs, I guess it depends on what type of glue you use, and if you're clumsy or not. Shouldn't it be easy to just glue it on again though?

Nice work on the marsh.
As mentioned the leaves are a great detail.

CDs--I like to trim them a bit so they aren't so obviously round. As for things breaking off, I do think it depends on the adhesive and the terrain. My woods pieces shed trees more often than the cd sheds the ground cover.

A very belated thank you to Von Kurst...

I made a couple of marsh CDs more. This time I used PVA glue to make deeper water but I don't think it was worth it, it didn't dry flat and clear enough, just varnish would have been better.





This one was harder to photograph and gets three pics.

VERY NICE swampy effect! It looks like the kind of place my Mushrooms would enjoy. WELL DONE!
