Note: Italics will indicate fluff rather than battle report.

Game 1 (really something like the 5th but I am starting the narration anew) Surprise Attack: Schafer's Gentlemen Pirates vs. Sizwe's Ubuntu
"Hail Induna!"
Induna Sizwe looked around to see the grizzled visage of his old friend Gazini approaching. Gazini was a powerful Lion Warrior and was a fierce, although a bit hot-headed, ally. His addition to the war-party would be useful. Sizwe greeted his friend then went to go speak with his herdsboys. They had just survived their first battle and were a bit shaken. Sandile had taken three foes out of combat, with the two smaller of them being casualties. They had only been the smallest of greenskins, but they still bled the same as any other. After making sure they were fit to continue he ordered his men to fan out and continue searching the ruined village of the pale men. They had left behind many useful items and tools Sizwe could bring back to his people in order to be used to protect them against the great evils of the Southlands.

Captain Schafer watched the Southrons looting the ruins of Belton. The small Bretonnian village had been a place for exploring vessels to stop and restock or trade. Schafer was appalled that the Southrons would defile corpses in this manner. They were HIS bodies to loot! Quickly turning and giving some quick orders to his First Mate Naeem, a Southron himself, he began to check the load on his pistol. He loved that pistol. It was a gift from great Pirate Red-Eye himself. After a little steel through the belly put Red-Eye in a generous mood of course.

Schafer's men began readying their weapons and stealthed through the morning fog hoping to catch the Ubuntu unawares...

Turn 1
Jumping out of the fog Captain Schafer attempted to charge Bheka along with his son and crewman Fynn. Bheka's quick reflexes and infuriatingly odd combat style prevented Young Master Schafer and Fynn from reaching the combat. With contempt the Captain jumped over the well and charged into combat pistol first! Bheka was winged by the pistol shot but was was dispatched by the Captain's skill with his blade. First blood went to the Pirates. On the Captain's starboard flank First Mate Naeem led the Jansen twins in an ambush against Bongani. Naeem was tripped up as Bongani manuevered his way so the Twins blocked Naeems charge! Piet and Kees pounced upon the poor Tusk Warrior and Piet was able to get a clean hammer blow on his foe's head, cracking the skull so all could see and dropping the Ubuntu! Piet ended his first combat with glee! Now the Captain would give him a full share of the loot! Kees was angry and turned towards the other tribesmen eager for his own share of blood...
Sizwe heard the shouts of warning and turned just in time to see two of his Tusk warriors fall in combat, he saw Bheka would survive, but Bongani was obviously dead.
"With me Ubuntu!" he cried to the mists.
"U-bun-tu!" the call came back!

The Ubuntu surged to attack and avenge their fallen brothers. They ran through the ruins and Unathi throw an Assegai that hit the crewman Fynn in the leg knocking him face first into the mud, stunning him with pain.

Turn 2
Jonas the Boatswain placed a pistol ball into Unathi's forehead dropping him instantly. After seeing two of their brethren slain and another injured the Ubuntu decided to run. Sizwe was in awe and shock of the strange weapons the strange pale people used. The metal and wood tubes that spit flames and death were terrifying! They were not stopped by wood or stone cover like the Assegai used by the Ubuntu...

Captain Schafer laughed as the yellow locals ran away. He did not feel like chasing after them. He was getting old after all.
"The Southlands is shaping up to be quite the profitable venture already lads!"

Result: Ubuntu Voluntary Rout, Pirate Victory!

The Captain saw to his crew as Naeem patched up Fynn's wound which by Manaan's Blessing only scratched the lad's side. It was the only wound any of him men suffered. Naeem was also able to patch up Bongani and Unathi! After several minutes of careful debate they decided to throw their lot in with the pirate crew! In the aftermath of the short skirmish Schafer's Gentlemen were able to find five worthwhile bits of salvage which he was able to sell off for 90 gold coins. Schafer celebrated by leading his men in the finest rum-filled drunken party they had ever had! Young Master Schafer ran into a Tilean aquaintance of his, one Fiorenzo De Luca, who was down on his luck. In return for a night of carousing Fiorenzo offered to lend the crew his crossbow at a discounted rate! All the flashing of coin attracted another brave lad to join the crew! After some expendature of gold as a signing bonus (needed to cover the lad's bar tab) an experienced sailor from Marienburg named Gustav joined on as a crewman!

Sizwe was angry at the death, so he thought, of two of his tribesmen at the hand of the pale people. His men were able to find three valuable pieces of technology they were able to salvage and sell for 60 of the foreigner's gold coins. In addition Sandile found two more gold coins in an abandoned shop. Small consolation, but the ancestors will as the ancestors will...

This single player campaign will have at least the following teams (more may be added later)

Dwarfs (Trying to recover lost dwarfen relics)
Orcs and Goblins (Savage orcs probably, out for krumpin'!)
Snotlings (They don't even know how they got there...)
Marienburgers (Explorer company out to map and eventually establish economic foothold in region)
Pirates (tales of easy salvage and cargo holds of gold)
Ubuntu (From the Tusker Plains, protecting their land and hunting grounds, and to learn new technology)
Mu'au'ri (From Coastal Regions, out for the chance to increase their mana)
Zamula (From the Jungles, out to drive off the foreigners who are raiding their sacred grounds)

Lizardmen and Beastmen may show up later, maybe some elves too.

The story is rather light so far and mostly the various warbands will be trying to earn their fortune or make money to send home to help their tribe.
I will be testing out my WIP rules for the three regions of the Southlands:
The Coastal Regions which use a lot of the standard rules mixed with a few from Sartosa (by Styrofoam King), mainly a modified version of cargo I will call Salvage for now. There will be some rules for water, but mostly it will be ruins of coastal settlements or long lost cities.
The Jungle will be a very dangerous place but treasures will be very valuable magical or old dwarfish relics. I may include a minor magical item list similar to the cargo chart. The jungle will have a lot of wild animals and environmental hazards.
The third area is the Tusker Plains. This will be large grasslands with trees and simple village structures. Large beasts (Tuskers, Lions, Buffalo etc) roam this area and treasure will be mostly in the form of ivory, exotic pelts, meat and native artifacts.
The location will be rolled randomly or agreed on by the players unless the campaign story dictates.

I will, but I want them to get their ratings up a little.
But I hope to get a Tusker Hunt in before I move in the next few weeks.

Who knew buying a house would slow down gaming so much...
