Varnish/ sealant in Germany

Ok, I'm an American living in germany and my German reading skills just are not up to par, if any of the german players could tell me what words im looking for when it comes to Matt Varnish/ it would be a huge help. im looking at getting it at a home store like Praktiker as i have some furniture id like to Varnish as well as some minis. i'd like to get a small can of the brush on kind and dont want to waste money on the wrong stuff. thanks

Varnish in German is "Lack". If you are looking for a matt varnish chances are that it is written in one word: "Mattlack".

You can also visit the GW website. Their "Purity Seal" is called "Mattlack" in German (although they have the original English label on them anyways).

is there a certain brand you would recommend?

Unfortunately I have no experience with varnish so far (something I definately need to change soonish). A friend is very keen on the "Lack" from OBI. That's all I know...
