Pistol = "Duelling" Pistol ?

A QUESTION ...

Right...from another thread you might have noticed that I have thrown my love (what an unsavory image I just got in my mind) on the little hairy bunnies eh I mean stunties ...the Dwarf Treasure Hunters ...and mulling over their equipment lists and reading about dwarf strategies from various sites ...I just have a couple of questions !

If a warband has Pistol but NOT Duelling Pistol in its warband equipment list ....may they then later on equip with Duelling pistols?? - ei. is duelling pistol just a better version of a pistol like Gromril Armor is to Heavy Armor???

In the case that the answer to the above is "yes" ...does that then also imply that a Dw Engineer adds 3'' to the range of a duelling pistol ? (as per normal engineer bonus for pistol).

No, sorry, "pistol" and "duelling pistol" are 2 different kinds of weapon.

Your dwarf may ONLY use a duelling pistol if he has a skill that allows him to use ANY kind of ranged weapon/blackpowder weapon.

So no 13" shooting pistols for your midgets unless they have the skill I'm afraid... But have you considered crossbows? I mean LOTS OF THEM!

(I have 5 crossbows in my Witch Hunter Warband... at least one of them is BOUND to find an angle and shoot in every turn).

Yes I have though about crossbows ...and in due time I do play to have 5 thunderers as my main henchmen group ...and if a clansman or beardling makes it be a hero ...give them shooting skill so they can have the shooting skill weapons expert ...Blunderbuss Yeah!! ...

On another note....I HAVE A DREAM .....no not about Martin Luther King ...but about a Dwarf Slayer which has learned academic skill group from an exploration roll of "22222" - picking up Arcane Lore and a Magic Tome ...and YEAH become a wizard *g* ...ohh POWER and GLORY *MUahahahHAh* - when my slayer then casts Sword of Rezhebel and Flight of Zimmeran ...
