Horatio is New!

^I'm sorry. I can never think of titles for these posts.

I'm Horatio. I am an artist/student by trade.I've been looking for some sort of story-based skirmish game and Mordheim seems to be to my taste (late Middle Ages, low fantasy, primitive gunpowder, dwarves...). This seems to be the last bastion of actual discussion. Sadly, I live in North Carolina which means that finding a place to play is difficult at best. Anyhow, I've come here to enjoy the game vicariously and hopefully get a little bit of that veteran knowledge while I attempt to get all my ducks in a row.

My only gripe is that the forum doesn't run well on Opera, but that's only a minor setback.

PS: Extra points if you can get BOTH the literary references of my name.

Welcome aboard! Mordheim sounds like it definitely fits the bill for what you seek in a skirmish game.

Chances are even if there isn't a Mordheim gaming group, per se, there are Warhammer players in your area. Try them, maybe some used to play or would be interested in trying it out. Necromunda players would probably be interested as well.

Solo gaming for now, I believe. Fayetteville is a bit far for regular visits (I really hate driving).

What kind of artist am I? I prefer sculpture but my current tutelage is leaning more towards painting.

Can anyone recommend a good compiled version of the rules? Unofficial warbands and all, if possible. I find it difficult to keep track of all the content when I have to flip between PDFs.

Also, what about the alternate settings? Lustria seems interesting but the website is pretty minimal...
