Hey all,
I just discovered your forum, and decided to lurk for a while before officially joining up.
I'm a Mordheim noob, but have been playing RPGs since the Dark Ages of the '70s. I love the idea of Mordheim -- the darkness of tone (I heavily played the WHFRG when it first came out in the mid-80s and love the feel of the world), the semi-RPG feel of a campaign, and the chance to do small scale skirmishes without having to blow a mazillion dollars on a full WH army.
I had a chance to play a little Mordheim last summer at my FLGS -- fought with Skaven and managed to NOT win a single game!! Still had a lot of fun though, and really loved painting the minis. I'm hoping that another campaign will start up this summer. I'm hoping to play Dwarfs -- tough little monkeys, but quite a shock when comparing them to Skaven (never got to play my rat-ogre). Going from a warband of ten or so to a whoppin' five!! But no one really cares when a Skaven hits you -- people take notice when a Dwarf smacks you upside the head! Anyway, I've finished my Noble and Engineer, mostly done with my Troll Slayer, and beginning my Thunderers (The BoomStyx!) tonight. Using minis from the Skull Pass set. When I can scrounge up a camera I'll try and get some photos online.
Anyway, I look forward to communicating with some like-minded individuals such as yourselves, and perhaps find some other gamers who reside in Western Oregon.
Take care,
Pat (packy666)
