From HeroQuest to BTB

Hi all!

As an addict of all things that involves more commitment and talent than I can muster I frequently return to mordheim as a form of stress relieft from the everyday hassle of my other hobbies (like collecting zombie movies/books, making it more law than exception to have assigned roles for zombies in MILSIM events and massing the biggest WHFB Zombie army ever...EVER ) by painting zombies for my warband.

As it seems that BTB (perhaps amongst other things?)
have brought out the Swedish campaigners
from hiding amonst the parapets, I am hoping to mass a new Undead Warband for
an oversized campaign and perhaps even learn to paint like a grown man.

Okay that might never happen but at least get a campaign going up here in Stockholm.

Its the dedicated players we lack up here nowadays.
People who can live with having a constant buildup of greenstuff and superglue under their nails because youve had to replace your hero's leg (again) with a daemonic pegleg of tzeenech since some campaigners make it a goal to fill up slots with the zombies of the fallen enemies by (accurate?) dreg sniper fire.

Some just havent seen the charm of slowly building up forces and power until you pitch an all in no holds barred all day melee for all the dregs and gobbos and youngbloods who's usually stuck in camp going "doop doop de dooop do" with gunpowder carts and random catastrophic events and encounters with Syphiliticus the not-so-insane-street-prophet-who-hands-out-hugsies.

As much fun as it might be with a one off against a random warband picked from someones standard WHFB army,
There is that shiny golden moment in seeing your characters grow both on the
rooster but also in that WYSIWYG kinda way.
I think this is why most of us got stuck playing this in the first place.

Its seems to be working now, albeit its high resolution hell at the moment, so I might have to get a cheaper camera so theyll look as good as when I paint them, in a badly lit room with smudged glasses

Imo that's one of THE BEST games ever, and probably the single game that attracted most mini gamers to the hobbie in the last 20 years or so.

And don't forguet that Bruce Hirst (from Hirst Arts Molds fame) started all because of HQ.
