Errr the name explains it really, try to figure out what your characteristics would be if you were a character in dungeons and dragons. I'll just do it myself and you can all take i from there! Also you should be honest, no one's gonna judge you for being big-headed!
You could note down any of the notable skills/feats you might have

Strength: Errr probably just below average, I'd say about 8/9 (I'm a skinny guy but I'm a bit stronger than I look)
Dexterity: Probably a bit above average I reckon, maybe up to about 14 if I'm being generous!
Constitution: LOW! About 6/7, I seem to keep getting ill at the moment though having said that I'm pretty resistant to pain...let's go with 7
Intelligence: Well I'm studying a science at university so I can't be completely thick! I'd say about 15/16 (again being generous)
Wisdom: This is really variable with me but overall I think it's fairly high, I'm pretty good at thinking things through most of the time with the odd dip here and there, I'll go with 14
Charisma: Well this one's a tricky one to answer, I think only other people you know can really judge this objectively! Ok well I've got a pretty big circle of friends who I'm pretty close to and a smaller circle who I'm really close to so I can't be that repulsive, I'll go with 14 based on that

I was looking through the skills and honestly don't have any of them lol!

I don't play DnD, but shouldn't wisdom be based on your value of objects (inanimate and animate)?

Oh, are we talking 4th edition? 'Cause I won't have any of those skills - waaay to powerful for me. The way the rules go for the new edition, even a 1st level character is consider a hero well beyond regular folk. But, for the sake of playing along:

STR 10 - Average
DEX 12 - Kind of nimble
CON 12 - I Take pain well
INT 10 - Nothing special
WIS 11 - I like to think I'm a touch wiser then I am smart
CHA 16 - Oh, I'm handsome AND attractive AND full of personality appreciated by everyone around me.

@MLP - Min characteristic is 0 (dead), but upon creation you can't roll less then 3.

Advanced DnD 2nd Ed was really good for stats, as it gave more then just a number to represent, but what exactly you could do with that attribute.

Oh I was going for 3.5 ed myself, only type I've played.
Wisdom's kind of a tricky one Chad, I always think of it as how you apply your experiences in every day life and how good you are at making judgment calls.

The WONDEROUS thing about playing AD&D [I dropped out around the time that WotC took over Suspect ] IS that you DON'T have to play yourself [I'd NEVER willingly be me Suspect ]. That said, to be honest:

Str= I get sand kicked in my face at the beach & my biceps feel like an oyster in a rag 3
Dex= Nimble as an Ox on Bad Acid & unable to hit the floor with my hat 3
Con= Unconstitutional; I can see visions of new BMWs flashing through my Doctors eyes 3
Int= I belong to Mensa; read what I have to say about clubs below 16 to18
Wis= about on the same level as a domestic turkey [turkeys have been known to stand in puddles staring at their reflections until they contract pneumonia & die] 3
Cha= Causes gag reactions in hyenas & vultures; face made of silly putty & sculpted with an ice pick 3

It's good to look at one's self in an objective manner periodically. Now you'll excuse me as I go out to leap off a cliff. Suspect

All those stats for me are low.

My high stat is luck, which DND doesn't have.

So assuming that I measure myself against the average, do I use an average modern person as my yardstick, or a medieval/whatever person? If the former then I'm considerably above average, if the latter then at least I'm unusually tall.

2nd ed for the win. Except for d30, gaaah.

Str: 15 Before I landed this plush desk job I used to do manual labour
Dex: 14 Handy with the small-ish bits and mostly light on my feet.
Con: 16 All that manual labour makes one hardy.
Int: 16 Too smart for my own good.
Wis: 9 Using said smarts? Ahahaha!
Cha: 14 People seem to like me, don't ask me why.

I recently discovered I may technically have a good constituion, couple with my tendenc not to get sick like ever normally, I also got bashed not too long ago. Randomly. But despite all the punches to my face nothing's broken, no bruises, only blood was from the BMX they threw at me and I looked like me the next morning. So... yeah?

(The basts broke a car window of mine though... terribly inconvenient and frankly what made me the most angry).

I think I'd have quite high charm, and quite low leadership-equivalent. (Recently, I persuaded some guy who wanted to air my brains with a rock that, actually, he'd be better off letting me go. Wink Not exactly brave, but smart.)

Fallen that sucks! I've somehow managed to avoid trouble like that in my 22 years on Earth despite spending the last three or four of them with a long black fringe, a lip ring and skinny jeans. Maybe because I'm 6'4" people avoid me, any shorter and I reckon I'd definitely be a target!
Chad both of those would come of the same stat (charisma).
Maybe you'd have lots of ranks in diplomacy...

str: 5 I stack chairs and tables for a living so I seem to have developed some upper body strength.
dex: 14 I put together warhammer minis and play with knivs so it stands to reason I'm good with my hands.
con: 5 chairs and tables blah blah blah.
int: dumb as a pile of shit and bricks.
wis: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no.
cha:see above^^^
