| Hi everyone, I posted this in the Mordheim Yahoogroup and got precisely zero responses, public or private. Undeterred, I am looking for any one or more of the following models to use as an Arabian merchant:
Arabian Merchant (the original) Sheikh Yadosh (other character from Midas the Mean dogs of war box set) Marco Colombo
If any one has any of these models and they wouldn't mind parting with them, I would love to take them off your hands. I am sure none will be cheap, and am willing to pay handsomely for your troubles. If you do, please contact me off list so as not to clog up everyone's mailbox. Alternatively, does anyone have any recommendations for an appropriate stand in model, GW produced or otherwise?
I am just getting back into war gaming after several years out, but I find it odd that the Merchant is no longer available. It seems he is one of the most recent of the Mordheim releases, the other four recent releases (kislevite, dwarf treasure hunter, halfling thief, and elven mage) are still available, and the Empire in Flames Hired Swords are still available. Even some of the original hired swords are available. Does anyone know what gives?
Thanks, Eric | |

| Hey, while I don't have any of the above models, I made a merchant using the fat bretonnian peasant, the monk's head, a middenheim cloak and a hat from one of the Empire boxed sets. I think he looks quite alright. | |

Got any pictures of him, Eliazar? I'd love to see him!

| The models in question that you are looking for are awesome models that most do not want to give up. With that said, I believe I have a Marco Colombo that has been sitting in its box for almost 7 years. LOL. If I can locate it I will let you know. I have the other two but they are nicely painted and love being a part of my family. I believe you are from the USA as am I. | |

| Yes I am in the USA. Tallahassee actually. Marco Colombo looks like the only "merchant/explorer" type model sufficient to satisfy the merchant for border town burning purposes. At least I can still find Marco Colombo overseas.
Any idea why the Merchant disappeared from the online store when none of the others have? At least the Mydas the Mean set can be found online sometimes, but the Arabian Merchant is completely void from any marketplace

| They scaled back the number of models they will have on hand.
Thus it was axed for now.

| After further review I no longer have the Marco model.
I can't remember if I sold it or traded it.
Sorry | |

| Cianty, have they already been released? If not, do you know when they are going to be released? | |

I have absolutely no idea. Other than that they are not yet release, of course. They were shown on one (or several?) Games Day(s) I think but a release date has never been announced. If all goes wrong, they won't ever be released (wouldn't be the first time).

| Holy hell those villagers would be perfect!!! I've never even seen them before. I just managed to pick up a Marco Colombo on ebay, so I guess I'll be okay in that department. He only went for a few 2.50 pounds + 3.00 pounds shipping, I just have to wait for him to be shipped over to the US.
Really I think something along a similar line such as villagers should be produced by forgeworld. GW probably doesn't need to mass produce villagers for what I suspect would be rather small demand. I tried looking in the Lord of the Rings range of minis, but couldn't find any merchant looking option there either.

| So I figured I would update this post for anyone else who comes looking for merchant models or merchant alternatives. After much searching, it is my opinion that the following GW models may pass suitably for the "Arabian Merchant" hired sword. Talisman Merchant- this guy can also be found on stuff of legends Lord of the Rings hero- also looks quite promising Sheik Yadosh- the original dogs of war paymaster Marco Colombo- more of an explorer I guess, but I think he's suitable Tom Bombadil- might be a little bit short, I dunno, I've never compared the lord of the rings models to the fantasy models, scroll down to the bottom to see him I hope someone finds this post useful, Eric | |

| Eureka make some Turkish pirates - the captain might make a nice merchant model for an Arabian merchant. If you're in the UK, you can get Euraka models from the Fighting 15's website - they have lots of weird models which are great for random stuff. They even have Rourke's Drift in teddy bear form and winged monkeys in Fez's. Fly my pretties! | |

| Love the Warcrow models, especially the kung fu goblin, but the Mrs. forbids that I purchase stuff from overseas. She claims the shipping will be to much for such a small amount of product. Which I can see her point. | |
