| Hi there, After readingthe rulebook I am left with a nagging feeling that it is extremely incomplete. It seems that all the rules are there, but it doesn't seem to contain much information on the setting itself. Was it published in other sectons of the book that are no longer available? Was the setting so scarce in the background area (I doubt it a lot)? In fact I feel I know more about the setting due to conversations with friends and stuff read here and there over the years than dfor what I have read in the 3 PDFs that are supposed to contain the whole rulebook. They ARE the rulebook, but in a strict sense: only the rules and none of the flavor. Quitre a pitty really. So, anybody knows were I can read the official Mordheim fluff about the meteorite, the destruction of the city, the formations of the confronted gangs et al? A youngblood wants to know. Thanks Xavi | |

| Most of the history (and for me, a lot of the attraction) of Mordheim is only vaguely hinted at. Some things have been explained in conversation with GW designers and writers and have become excepted "truths" among the community (ie - that the meteorite was in fact the Daemon Prince called Be'lakor, the Dark Master who came to prominence during the Storm of Chaos campaign), but none of this stuff is really recorded officially, all in one place. | |

Xavi I have one of those official PDFs, which comprises the first part of the original rules (in paper form). I.e., only the bare rules for the actual game. It looks like those PDFs cannot be downloaded anymore, anywhere, so I don't know which other two PDFs you have. This first document misses lots of content, rendering it basically useless: - Warbands - Scenarios - Campaigns - Trading - Some fluff, though I didn't actually read that too closely in the paper version, so I don't know how good it was. "Meteorite", "collect treasures" is enough for me at the moment, and the scenarios provide the short term (roleplay) motivation for my warband. It is still fine to have around since it allows faster searching for specific key words during gameplay, but don't expect to get everything you got from a printed edition.

This first document misses lots of content, rendering it basically useless [...] The rulebook which was released online was split into three parts, of which you only got the first one. The missing content can be found in the other two files. If you want the complete rules, you should check out cianty's link above.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I downloaded that stuff only recently, and I think it was from a google cache or whatever - the SG site was down already. Since I have the paper version it's not that important to me anyway. - Quote :

| In the normal GW page, if you go to "Specialist games resources" you can download the 3 PDFs with the mordheim rules. You can also downloasd 2 PDFs with the Empire in Flames supplement. All those are searchable, but the Mordheim rulebook onlyu contains the rules with none of the fluff. I am reading the fluff now and I think it is the best part of the rulebook by a large margin. is what makes mordheim what it is: from a rules perspective mordheim is ok as a game, but it is the setting thaqt makes it a top notch product. Your mileage might vary Cheers, Xavi | |

| Very nice, thank you. Last time I checked, that stuff was not to be found there (or I was blind). EDIT: Ah. I actually had the German version of the PDF - and on the German GW site, there is indeed only that first part. | |

| It is true that there is only limited background material in the Rulebook. The absence of narrative and lack of a developed structure (see Border Town Burning) for promoting variety in campaign play are the Rulebooks main failings for me. - Quote :

If anyone is at all interested, the City of the Damned gets an honourable mention in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. There is some additional background there. It's rather juicy so if you get a chance please check it out. Read also about the key protagonists featured in Mordheim like the Sisters of Sigmar. Regards, Werekin.

| There is no other information to the general public.
I know only one other person who has more and that is Tuomas. I have chatted with him over email and he isn't publishing anything as GW owns it.
The game was supposed to keep moving forward with items but when Tuomas left and then Steve Hambrook died and the GW's downsizing SG Games that pretty did away with more avenues.
The biggest slow down was really with Tuomas leaving the company.
