Cat's Marauders

I've said it elsewhere, but as always your GS-fu is amazing. I really like what you have done here, from the bases and chainmail to the cloaks...

I LIKE the city style bases myself; re, sacking a city WOULD be the objective of a Chaos army afterall; unless your into relieving the peasantry of a sack of turnips or two, there's little to be gained out in the countryside. Of your GS work I'm most impressed with the belts, buckles, & the scaly skin. Excellent stuff.

I know i've been one of the ones whining for you to paint the lads up, but I can see where in would be more efficient to convert ALL the minis for the starting warband AND THEN paint them up. SO...I promise, no more whining from moi.

Very nice bases - the latest two are looking very, very good.

I love the gutter idea on the bases, by the way - very subtle, but very cool, as it allows for all sorts of effects (water in the gutters, mud on the streets, etc.).

Update time. Got a little painting done.

First up is the rebased and completed Chieftain. Although there is a chance he will be demoted to Champion status in favour of a bigger bad-assier Chieftain...



Next we have the executioner-themed Champion. Basecoats applied to the skin, he will be the same skin tone as the Chieftain. Cloak is pretty much complete barring tidying up.



Finally there is the Condemned. Trousers are done, skin is more or less done, claw and scales are pretty much done.

Sweeet! Reaally sweet! The Condemned is super cool!

The bases look really good. Like professional resin bases or something. Great job.

Thanks guys. Scaly Green seemed the most appropriate colour for the scales.

I won't get a chance to finish them today sadly as I have 22 Orks to paint for a commission. Stoopid orks...

Maybe tomorrow though.

I've had a lull in commission work here, which is BAD for the cash flow thingy, but GOOD for the soul;i.e., I'm getting to do some of my unfinished stuff as I slowly starve to death .

Whatz yuh mean "stoopid Orks"! ...ACTUALLY Orks ARE stupid; Goblins ARE the brainz of da outfit, which goes a LONG ways to explaining the state of affairs in Orkdom.

That condemned model is aces all the way man.
I still have not decided if I will build one.
I love the bases for them.

Deafnala: I don't do much commission work. It's mainly just to help my mate with his commission business. I mass basecoat stuff for him so he can spend more time on the highlights/details.

Krug: If you are using them as Marauders then I'd seriously consider the Condemned. If nothing else it's a 5th Hero for income. They have so much potential to be either awesome or comically bad in a fight. I just had to have one. Plus I look forward to seeing how you approach the model!

If you are using your band as Norse, then the Ulfwerenar is awesome and totally worth taking. You could easily make a mutant that could count as an Ulfwerenar or Condemned.

Yes, do not ever underestimate this! Income is key in Mordheim.

Now this is a great point. The Condemned is one of those models where players can go crazy. The marauders already are the most personalisable/customisable warband around and the Condemned really is the climax of this individualisation. You can do anything. From a Chaos Spawn on a 25mm base to a normal Marauder with a limp. This is a great hobby opportunity and you should not let it pass you by. With the quality of your other marauders I know that whatever you will come up with, it will be awesome!

Love the colour of the claw, very nice choice! That executioner looks proper badass as well, like he just doesn't give a s**t!

Thanks for the continued support guys. Warseer is a lot harder to get feedback on things so it's nice to log on here and read comments.

It will likely be the weekend before I can do any more work on these guys. I have another 24 Orks to paint yet.

LOL, no, that's totally cool. I was just wondering what you were implying. I didn't understand it so that you were currently watching it (or about to watch it). In my nerdiness I thought you were up to make something like a Cathayan Battle Panda warband. Yeah... I'm so sick.. so what!

See, Cat, that's what you get for painting those stupid (literally) Orcs! We're derailing your thread until you come and take it back on trail with some proper pics of bad-ass Chaos boyz!

Orks not Orcs.

Orcs would be easy, it's all brown leather and metal weapons/armour.

Orks are more of a problem due to all the clan colours.

Derail/schmerail, you guys are just bored and looking for an outlet for your mind-wanderings! :p



EDIT: Some good news for you though. I have to wait in for my Landlord so won't be going round to my mate's to paint Orks. The Condemned shall get some more attention today.
