WIP Nuln Warband - Birds of War

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum (first post!), but a long-time Mordheim player. A couple of guys in my friend group are getting back into the game, so it was time for me to do a new warband.

Give it up for the Birds of War!

And here come my favorite two heroes, the underclassmen. They're training in the use of pigeon (well, crow) bombs, hence the birds. As soon as they gain the Weapons Expert skill, they'll be allowed to use actual bombs! First up, Lothar von Richthofen

And finally, Wolfram von Richthofen

Good job on the heroes, they have some nice poses. Curious how the pigeon-bomb-attempt works out for you. I'd like to see more photos of the henchmen and the painted warband later!

The Lads look SPLENDID...if you drill out the muzzles of their guns, they will look even more splendid. Have FUN with the painting & basing.

Yeah, that's the plan, but I just moved and left my drill in another state. Will recover next week and get to work. Thanks for the encouragement!

I've not played in a long while and never with Nuln, so I'm curious too, haha. The logic was, the Underclassmen start with BS2 - might as well give them an auto 5+ to hit with unlimited range and splash damage...but it may prove too dangerous. We'll see.

Nice set of miniatures with nice poses. However, I do wonder about the Underclass men having pidgeons…. "Weapons/Armour: Underclassmen choose their weapons and armour from the Gunnery School Equipment List"

Because I am building a Nuln warband my self, or rather, adding miniatures to my existing Freikorps so I can field a Nuln wargang, and I had the same idea, but someone pointed out that they don't have acess to those weapons.

Right, they're not. But see my description above:

Maybe I will steel your idea!

Fun conversions & exploding crows seems a good reason to use the Nuln list. I look forward to seeing the warband grow & gain colour, even if that colour is mostly just black...
