I'm starting a CoC warband, having decided to drop the Nurgle's Rot to balance things up a bit. My questions are about the brutes. They can be equipped with either flail or 2-handed weapon and also have Strongman. Wouldn't you always start them with a 2H weapon (except to save gc)? Am I right in thinking they can never have armour?

Nope no armor sadly but lucky charm, rabbitfoot can help them as certain skills. I think to the flail is for save some gc or it can be use to differ the critical table if you use them.

Yup, the flail only really gets used because it's cheaper -- or because you've got a model with a flail you want to use. The Rule of Cool often prevails.

Thanks for your comments. I'm going with 2H weapons because:
1. I want both brutes to carry big carnival-style mallets. 2. They are better.
