| I was just admiring Master Sparks mat in his scenery thread. Definitely a must have for those of us who need to carry scenery to games. | |

| Yeah, that's the same mat I've got. I'll also give it a hearty recommendation. | |

| Many thanks for the link Mr Cianty ! But I think that my wallet (or my banker) is going to curse you to the fifth generation (at least). | |

| this looks really great! Price with shipping to where I live would be 79 euro for a 6' x 4', which isn't that bad. I honestly think that mouse mat material would be the best as well since it gives a slight resistance to units being pushed around while at the same time units not getting stuck in the material. (as they would be if one uses a felt mat) I'm strongly considering getting this one. I also love that there are no marked streets on the mat, since I like to be able to place the buildings wherever I want. | |

Yes, the mousepad material is indeed very nice for moving figures across. They slide very conveniently and silently. - Scarecrow Boat wrote:

This was the selling point for me also. As I wrote I already ordered the Kraken Mat with the nice streets printed on it, but I wanted this generic design due to its flexibility. There is also Deep-Cut Studio who have really nice designs. However, their mats are currently only available as PVC or cloth and I am unsure about those materials. I read on their Facebook page that mousepad versions should be available too this month or next. I am considering one of their ocean/water designs if it becomes available as a monster mousepad version.

| EXCELLENT FIND! It looks like a fine gaming surface for Mordheim or any other urban arena. | |

| I've got one of the Deep-Cut cobblestone mats in PVC, and it is good but not great. Downsides are that it is slightly gloss so reflects light (not usually enough to notice while gaming unless you are in very direct strong light, but makes taking pictures really tricky) and the fact that it must be rolled very precisely to fit back in the tube and the edges tend to curl a bit.
I've also got a cloth mat from a different company for Battelfleet Gothic, and again, good but not fantastic.

I have been very curious about these materials so this is interesting feedback. I think if Deep-Cut offer mousepad material versions then I will try their Ocean mat for my pirate games.

| My new 4x4 foot "Wasteland" mat ( linky) is from http://www.gamemat.eu/ in the Czech Republic. It is mousemat material and it's very very lovely. Matt surface, no curly corners, comes with a soft nylon carry bag, looks great with my existing terrain! They don't do a coblestone surface but I intend to use mine for both fantasy and sci-fi gaming for now. | |

| I guess that the mats have a smooth surface? Or is it structured? | |

| The surface is smooth, not structured. Think of them as gigantic mousepads. | |
