| the town of Halsdorph once prospered south of Marienburg, its rare patch of fine farmland and excellent lace goods encouraging traders to divert from the Gisoreux road for a chance at extra profit and a safe night's sleep. But that was before the 'Night of Terrors', when the earth shook, the land sank and the swamp swallowed the best fields. Now the town is dying, few visitor call at this depressing place, and the remaining residents stare fearfully over their shoulders, haunted by dreams of the nearby 'Demon Swamp'.The stage is slowly getting set, the cursed town of Halsdorph and the prosperous parent city of Marienburg. The players are gathering, the twisted Fimir howl their rituals beneath Morrslieb. The Watch is recruiting, every able bodied man is needed to stand before the wave of crime. In their candle lit halls the elves stand ready to protect their interests. Criminal gangs are making a lucrative trade in the turmoil. And outside of Halsdorph Stromfels is worshiped by atavistic half-men. So this is my first attempt at making some decent terrain. I'll be the first to admit I'm by no means a Cianty or Joao or near as good as any of you other posters. So please tolerate my fumblings. However I'm most certainly looking for ideas and suggestions so comments are always welcomed. An other inspiration is Gardens of Hecate. My first building is the abandoned counting house. Sorry for not getting any photos of the whole thing, my camera sucks and I'm too tired to try again tonight. the local privy hut useful little trinkets. An alarm bell, a powder keg, a treasure chest and a mobile pulpit. | |

| Don't sell yourself short; those are some EXCELLENT LOOKING pieces. Have FUN with the finishing touches! The Garden of Hecate has become a favorite inspirational haunt of mine also. She, in turn, gave me this link to things that inspire her: http://millertanya.deviantart.com/gallery/?catpath=/...cool, eh?! | |

| Very nice indeed!
I really like how that church turned out. Any pointers on how you made that?

| Wow! Lovely terrain components! Are these all parts of kits or did you make some of them? I recognise the GW ones but not the church, for example.

| @Kev - thanks! Unfortunately I have neither the skill nor the time to sculpt something like this, at least not yet. The church is from a company called derendal or something like it, can't remember. @Alan - thanks old sport! That's a nice blog, thanks for pointing it out. @Theomar - cheers! @Quase - thank you! The church (or counting house) is as I said store bought and I just added some bits from different GW kits to warhammerifiy it and some plasitcard to cover the windows from the inside since I don't like open windows. @Joao - thanks buddy! Glad you like them. | |

| Is that a plastic drop cloth or something? Otherwise very useful collection of scenery there, though the church looks like its a historical kit and thus on the small side. | |

| @Alan - thank you @VK - Thank you The boards are still plastic wrapped, I find it make it easier to sketch on them, it will be removed as soon as I get a pot of paint. The church is indeed historical and the front door is just a little bit smaller than it should be. But since I'm not using it as a church it doesn't matter to me. @Quase - Thanks man! I still need to build a fortified manor to add some size. I'm really bummed out that GW seems to have discontinued Skullvane Manse I wanted it for the town. | |

I'm hearing you! Still kicking myself in the soft parts for not having bought their Chapel when it was still available.

| I think you can still get the Chapel from various online sellers and hobby retailers, at least my local game store has a kit. I recommend getting it, it's really nice.
I understand that GW is a business and needs to think about the bottom line but their lack of communications can be really annoying.

| @Floede - thanks mate! @Flip - the graveyard? It's the Garden of Morr, one must remember to keep a priest of Morr on the payroll or it might get infested with ghouls. | |

| So now I got most of the building I will need for Marienburg, even if I'm a bit worried that I'll get hooked on acquiring property, like in monopoly I now have three shrines, one will be a small pub, one will be a crematorium and one will be something else. The challenge will be to make them different enough. I also have a watchtower that I'll try to make into a house of some kind. I also got my greedy hands on the fortified manor, it will function as a Watch station and a trade station. And of course there is also the Garden of Morr and the church/banking house. I might need an other Garden at some point but all in all I think I have a nice Marienburg on my hands to build. Pictures will hopefully follow soon.
