| This should be a fairly basic rules question, but a search didn't turn up much for "Ranger" or "Seeker", so I'm asking it here. Elf Rangers have a special rule called "Seeker" detailed on page 108 of the Mordheim Rulebook - Quote :
- Seeker. When rolling on the Exploration chart, the Elf Ranger allows you to modify one dice roll by -1/+1.
Two questions about this. A) If the Elf has been taken out of action during the game, but has not been killed in determining post-game injuries, can Seeker still be used? Intuitively, it would seem that the answer is no, but most often when this is the case for other things, it is made explicit in the rules. B) Is the modified +1/-1 dice able to be used for the player's Wyrdstone total, or is it solely for determining which event is found on the exploration chart?

| A)We have never given this much thought, so I guess we're being intuitive. If the Ranger is taken OoA during the game, his ability is not used for that game. B) The result of one die is changed by +/-1. This change affects what it affects be that the total amount of wyrdstone or multiples of one number. | |

| It can also be used in rolls *inside* one of those tables. Rolling on a table to see what kind of loot you get? +/-1 to that to help get the loot you want.Find d3 crossbows? Add +1 to that. Find d6 gems worth 10 gold each? Add +1 to that. Getting Tarot cards early can help get a lot of good loot for a warband, and Seeker will help you get the funds for doing so.
Although it is unclear, in my group we ruled that generally you can only use skills or equipment that were present on the battlefield and didn't go out of action. So no keeping your seeker or wyrdstone pendulums back at base and still getting the benefit from them.

| I agree with VK and Lord 0. The equipment must be held by a hero that did not go OOA in the battle.
(We may have been cheeky during a campaign in the past by allowing Tarot Cards to be used even if the hero didn't take part in the battle due to Old Battle Wounds.)
