| I hope this is the right place for this. Anyway, just wanted some advice. While I already have a Minotaur in my Beastmen Raider Warband, I picked up another fellow thought looked awesome. Not yet painted, I know, but I wanted your folks opinion. A) which one do you prefer, and B) would you even allow the second one to count as a Minotaur? Thanks, and here are the pics to choose from: Current Minotaur that I field: The one I'm thinking of switching over too: Thanks for the advice! | |

| lol is that an elephant head? hahah hahaha Okay, but seriously: If a octopus human and underwater explorers can count as can count as a Marienburgs, I can see using an elephant human as a minitar. Obviously it's up to your group in the end. As long as it's on the same sized base, I wouldn't care. peace | |

| Ooooh! You have got the Elefant-guy mini! I know that one, it's so cool! I would definitely allow it as a minotaur. I think it's great. As long as it fits the paintjob of the rest of the warband, I think it is a great choice. But why do you want to replace the "real" minautaur? I think it looks just as cool. _________________ | |

| just to change things up a bit; been using that other minotaur for years it seems. Been thinking of starting a fresh Beastman Raider warband and wanted to slap that elephant fellow in it. | |

| The most important opinion is that of your gaming group here. The Elephant hybrid ("minotaur" is the wrong word here by definition) sure looks fitting.. especially if you'd give the warband a background for Cathay or Ind. | |

| AGGGGH! I CAN'T MAKE UP MY MIND! [of course it's difficult making up something that I only marginally possess ] I LOVE the traditional Minotaur; the positioning with the pointing finger [Yuz is lunch!] & the paint job are GREAT! On the other hand, even unpainted the Elephant Guy is SO UBER-COOL. You're JUST going to have to do a second Warband.

Hmm, you know that's an excellent idea. None of my other friends play beastmen and I've got the models to have two going on at the same time. I might just make that suggestion. Thanks for the idea.

| Definitely the elephant! That's awesome! It is chaos after all, who knows what sort of beast the dark gods might choose to spawn?! It's big, it's got horn equivalents, it's got the body of a man, you'd have to be pretty lame not to allow it. Where'd you get that mini? | |

| The first one....say, Moo
The Second one says, I've got a big trunk.
I would prefer the first one, just to stick with the minotaur image although the second one looks pretty cool

| He's a Rackham Legends mini: http://www.rackham-store.com/boutique_us/fiche_produit.cfm?type=601&ref=UKCD13&code_lg=lg_us&pag=1&num=46The beauty of it, is the ogre's head fits just under the crook of the trunk. Looking at the model without the head, there's only the slightest depression there, where the neck fits in, and looks just like his chest. Also, I went without attaching the shield on his stomach as I wanted my Elephantaur's belly to hang out. My only concern is the weapon does look a little small compared to the rest of the body - but I might just fix that with some balsa wood sword or something. We'll see. Might be the next one I paint here . . . | |

| Oh I see! The model looks weird with the ogre head in place anyway, much better as an elephantaur | |

| I agree, the Elaphant is just too cool not to use! Now you know you have to make a few special beastman to fit in that warband. A Hyena man, Lion man, and Baboon man come to mind... Lions are not hard, just trim the goatee off a beast man and sculpt a mane and give him skaven feet. I did not make this modelHyena is more difficult, some sort of skaven/beastman hybrid would look ok... OK now i'm giving myself an idea for anew warband! | |

| Okay - so, opperation retire Minotaur to McDonalds in under way (sorry if this is a little bit of Necromancy - but I figured it was better to revive then to start a new thread on it). Here's the latest shot of my Elephantaur: Just looking at it now, I know those tusks are going to need a little work on 'em. Hmm, perhaps this belongs under the painting section now? Oh well. | |

| Although the elephant looks cool it does NOT look like its going to rip your head off - which is kinda what I feel is needed from a Minataur. I have a mean looking minataur which I have upgraded into a Chaos Minataur and its look evil and my mates dont like attacking it. The elephant looks confused and wimpy. Sorry | |

| Looking great. That'll be very interesting to paint.
Oddly enough, one of my buddies has that model and de-emphasized the elephant "headdress," and he plays it as a mercenary ogre (it has tons of gear carried on its back). It's really odd to see it completely altered to focus on the elephant head.
