| After investigating more in the rules of my Lizardmen warband, I've found another question I'd like to ask this wise community! The question is about Mark of the Old Ones, which can be given to a hero and used to turn a failed dice into a succesful one. This raises the question whether 'a succesful dice' would include the possibility to make it crit. My own interpretation is no, since that would make it quite powerful, which it already is. However, with 'auto-wounds' (Black Lotus), you get the possibility to score a crit, even though you've got a succesful wound already, if you roll a 6. That might be the case here as well. An additional question might also be whether you psysically change the dice, or just say 'I make this roll succesful!' - this could also apply when tryiing to cast a spell, where you need 7+, and you roll 2x1s, then you'd have to change one of them into a 6 to be succesful, same as required to crit something. Hope you can assist! | |

| I would say the best way to approach this would be to imagine that it would only change the dice to the lowest possible number needed to make it a successful roll, which would ensure that wounds caused by using the Mark could never crit. As far as the Black Lotus comparison goes, they went out of their way to explain how to handle a crit with that, and since the same wasn't done for mark of the old ones, its safer to just assume it can't be done. | |

| That seems to me like a fair explaination - "lowest possible number needed", because that would also mean, that if a 6 is the lowest number needed, it still can't crit. Thanks! I don't quite understand how they "went out of their way to explain how to handle a crit with [Black Lotus]" though! Anyway, thanks for the response | |

| what i meant about them going out of their way is that it describes, in detail, in the black lotus special rules how a critical hit is still possible even though no wound to roll was made. Theres no such description with Mark of the Old Ones. | |
