I'm afraid you can't because blunderbusses are only available for Marksmen.

| My figures arrived, 4 Beastmen (if I get a lads got talent i'll need the extra) a box of the new Empire Flagellants) I will use the Empire models for Brethren and Mutants and possibly the Magister if I don't find anything laying around. For the Possessed I'll throw something together with the old bits I have. If I decide to use Dark Souls i'll use Flagellants with the masked heads.
And might I say I am impressed by the quality of the Flagellants! I ordered 8 different Brettonian Bowmen heads to mix it up a little, since they are suitably poor, downtrodden and unhealthy looking.
I sadly realized I can never have a model with a crossbow or black powder weapon since I can never take shooting skills to get weapons expert... Oh well, I was looking forward to a rifle wielding Beastman. Looks like I'll need to hire a marksmen once I get the gold.
New Warband: The Slaves of Darkness (working title) Magister - Bow, Mace = 88 Possessed = Giant Claw, Spikes = 200 Mutant = Tentacle, Mace = 63 Mutant = Extra arm, sword, mace = 73 Beastman = axe, club = 53 total 477
I only have 5 models! I think I might try to add one Brethren with a spear as a charge interceptor for my Magister by dropping the bow.
I have no idea how to compete against experienced warbands 3 times my size, so I guess I will sit back and wait to be charged. The group ONLY playes multiplayer bands so I can hold up in a building and jump anything that comes my way trying to keep everyone standing so I can find wyrdstone and afford a few more bodies.

| Seems like a very solid list to me. I have no suggestions for improvment except maybe for a bow that I would give to the Necro.
Other than that, seems more than reasonable and effective to me. _________________

Group them? Is that even possible in Mordheim? He only 'groups' them in the list. It's easier to write down what they have. Instead of copying the equipment 3 times. Overall, looks like a solid list UnderBheit!

| Dregs with BS 2 are not very efficient with bow, I give it to one of them later when they gain +1 in BS. And heavy armour is too expensive for a beginning, I prefer to take one funest wolf to escort the vampire | |

And heavy armour is too expensive for a beginning, I prefer to take one funest wolf to escort the vampire I would tend to agree ...however with the vampire I might be willing to make an exception since he is already rather expensive and is THE CORE of the band ...however, if u have heavy armour you should definately take a shield too !

| I'm not agree, a shield will have a negative effect of -1 M, for a vampire it's a doom ! | |

Lucky charms arent bad ...but they are not THAT good anymore ...and if the guy has high T then they really are a bit of a luxury item. lucky charm These take many shapes, but the most common are symbolic hammers that a pious Sigmarite Priest has touched, or carved heads of ancient Dwarf gods. The first time a model with a lucky charm is hit in a battle they roll a D6. On a 4+ the hit is discarded and no damage is suffered. Owning two or more charms does not confer any extra benefits, the model may still only try to discard the first hit. - so lucky charms work BEFORE rolling to wound & BEFORE any armour save ...making them relatively less usefull for tough guys than for weak skinny elven-sorts ...

| The both of them Wolves are great, because of their S4 and M9, but they are quite expensive and not very protected (T3)... The witch hunter's dog is a good investisment, cheap and strong, I'm quite in love with them | |

| Thanks for all the advice folks. I did consider dropping the armor on the vampire, but I'm going for a reall WSIWYG Warband, so I kept it. As for the Dregs and Bows, I see what you mean about their accuracy, but I kind of like it. I think it gives them character. |

| Your second list looks much better (it looks alot like my Averlander warband ). Remember marksman is just a title. If you give a marksman close combat weapons and a blunderbuss he becomes a close combat critter. | |

| I have my final Warband list and my first game is tomorrow. The leader of the campaign retired his Orcs and started an Undead warband. It should be an interesting game between two fresh warbands. Although it is not much different from my last list, here is the final product:
(Name not decided) Magister - Club(staff)
Ryl'nyectk Possessed - Giant Claw, blackblood
Vishmor Mutant - extra arm, sword, mace
Malectis Mutant -tentacle, mace
Durgon Thunderhoof Beastman (x1) - sword, mace
Shlock Brethren (x1) - mace
500 gc exactly. My first purchase will be a sword for Vishmor the 3-armed mutant. I hope to recruit a few brethren with bows and spears to shoot and intercept charges. Also a few more beastmen are in my long term plans. If I ever save enough gold for another possessed I’ll get it, but I hope to get some talented lads to fill out my other hero slots since saving 200 gc looks difficult
My basic strategy for game one will be to stick to a tight group with the brethren in front to intercept and take shots. Mutants and possessed will be my main fighting line behind him, and the 3rd row will me my magister and his beastman bodyguard. They will counter attack when needed. Hopefully I can withstand the vampire’s assault, I don’t foresee any shooting in this game unless the dregs have bows…
Comments? Tactical or expansion suggestions from the more experienced?

| I played my first games of Mordheim with my possessed. I have decided not to make this a "battle report" in the appropriate section of the forum b/c i'm not giving a turn-by-turn account.
First game was a 3-player lost prince. He started on a hill in the center of the table having just walked our of the Slippery Skaven Tavern. The Undead across from me took one long bridge to get to him, the Vampire got there before even the skaven! I was advancing from the opposite long bridge. The skaven player started shooting stones and warpfire at the rest of the undead above them stranded on the bridge as they retreated to the safety of a tower.
The vampire decided to jump off a 3 inch cliff to escape the massive skaven warband(mind you the skaven have seen aver 20 games and the undead had seen 4). We ruled that he could drag the prince with him and as it turned out the vampire used him to soften his landing, killing him!
After that the undead routed leaving me to face the skaven. Luckily I was in the middle of a bridge and could hold them off with my disposable brethren while the heroes escaped. After the initial charge the henchmen went down and it was either charge of be charged! So I threw in m mutants and beastman; beasty boy went out which allowed me to rout.
After the game I replaced the brethren that died and saved the rest of the money.
Game two was the same table with the same players but the undead warband was disbanded and he started some orks. There were 4 wyrdstones. The orks and skaven immediately got into it while I spend most of the game moving up.
By the time I got into position everyone had a wyrdstone with the 4th in the hands of a skaven gutter runner below me. He caused fear and 3 of my models refused to make a diving charge (it was the height I tell you, not the rat man they were afraid of!) Malictus hopped down but stunned himself falling and was taken out by the ratman. My brethren heroically avenged him by leaping down, and both combatants went down.
The orcs and skaven had beat each other up pretty badly due to the rat ogre and troll on the other side of the table and they both routed leaving me in charge of the board and my one shard!
I am still deciding what skill to give my possessed and what items to search for. Some good advances, but also a disappointing LD+ for my tentacled mutant. I have 121 gold, might buy a couple brethren with spears and hire a marksmen. What do you guys think is best?

| Good job on winning one of your first games That's why I'm not a big fan of 3 player games. Unless half of each warband attacks half of the other, it ends up being two warbands taking eachother out... causing them both to "lose". srry, I don't have any tips for what to buy. Thanks for the report. Can you take pictures next time? lol Thanks, | |
