2) Even though it might be usefull to split henchmens in as many group as you can, for clarity sack, it's not recommanded.

Black Orcs can get Heavy Armour (in the Nemesis Crown PDF), but regular Orcs can't and shouldn't be allowed it.

Hi everyone, im looking at building a Skaven warband (i already play skaven in BB, so why not in mordheim too). With very limited Mordheim experience (ive only ever played 2 games) im unsure how to start them. Heres what ive come up with so far.

Welcome Zoglug!

I like your list.

However I would give the assassin 2 hand weapons. The assassin is your strongest model (S=4) so you should maximise his attacks. It would be a shame to just roll one dice instead of two. If possible I'd even give all the heroes 2 hand weapons (I know, they have daggers, but those are not strong enough).

Thanks for the advice Tom and hello there Kurgan! I hope you know this list is being specially taliored to kick fish butt! oh and ug ugh ugg's butt too! I never got round to playing much/any Mordheim when the campaign was running so id like to start now! Hopefully, ill have more chance painting a Mordheim band than i do painting a Warhammer army.

Are you going to be able to get to Zelophahad's to play lunchtime games? (I can't remember where you work in relation to the city centre of Morkchester! )

I work near Primark, so it may be an option to play during some lunch times. The aim at the moment is to get a warband up and running rather than keep proxying models. So a few models im watching on flea bay, a box of night runners and a drybrush i should be good to go!

A second sword doesn't do anything so you waste 10 gc. I don't agree with Tom, but I'm sure he was thinking about claws . The best weapon combinations for your heroes are:
- dagger n dagger
- sword n dagger
- claws
- envenomed claws
...because you can't use maces [you must remove the ones on the night guys too ]
I'd go with claws on 2 S4 guys and sword and dagger on the others.

Remember that S4 + dagger = no penalty!

EXCUSE ME?! A dagger gives +1 to armour save to the enemy. So if he had a 5+ your strengh 4 would normally reduce that to 6+. If you are wielding a dagger however, it goes right up to 5+ again.

No seriously: assassin with claws? No thanks. He has a I=5 which is the best you can get for climbing-initiative tests (a 1 always misses anyway!). So adding the claw's +1 to Initiative bonus for climbing is therefore obsolete. Claws are a bad deal if you ask me, since it costs you your shooting ability ("Cumbersome" rule for claws) and is expensive. If you have cash to burn, buy weeping blades!

Come on NOBODY except some dwarves uses armors during the first games of a campaign. Even meeting such an opponent, you should kill him fast enough sending in more people.

Yeah seriously forgot the cumbersome rule, my bad ^^. (I surely wasn't thinkin' at the climbing ability ). The list should be
-daggerx2
-sword and dagger
-weeping blades (I will never understand why weeping blades aren't cumbersome O_o)

I guess because they are basically normal swords with poison (or wyrdstone built into them)

My only remaining reason to get claws for my assassin is the "bad-assness" becaues they are FREAKING bad ass! So rad.... anyway... I don't know if I can tear myself away from giving my assassin claws... hmmm

This is another list factoring in the Weeping Blades which look cool due to the Sin having poison on his blades. (i dont think there very good, 30pts for Black Lotus poison.....i cant even find what it does!) but it means dropping the twin swords from the rest of the dudes.

Cianty has a point. I forgot that Skill. Indeed, if my assassin had that Skill, I would probably consider buying him claws.
