| Haha It's ok It was pretty interesting guys should I have the vampire Run off with the hounds or should I drop the hounds and have him run with some ghouls? I am just trying to figure out a build that would be alot of fun but keep my vamp around for along time haha | |

| a lot may have to do with who you are going to face. If it looks like you may need some speed to get up and close fast to some archers then wolves are a good thing so your Vamp isn't alone. But if they sit back and protect then slow and steady will win it for you.
If your not sure the go all Ghouls as they can gain exp and thus LGT sooner if you got them sooner. First time you see the need though get wolves.

| Every campaign I started with wolves watched them die off in the first few games. Ghouls, ghouls and more ghouls. | |

| Ghouls it is then! lol Should I give my vampire dual swords and heavy armor or sword shield and heavy armor to make him defensive? maybe a helmet? I have just about everything locked in for my undead other then the vamps equipment I will be playing against orcs and beastmen | |

| helmet = useless because the vampire cant be stunned
hvy armor shield is a nice touch, the -1 movement isnt destructive as hes already quite fast.

| both those warbands are tough (T4 on most) so I would say in additon to the heavy armour give something to him that will give him a strength boost. Halberd isn't bad as it's a +1 strength each turn but then you get no shield in h2h. The problem is though against Beastmen your looking at a few S4 models so you have lost 1 point of your armour alredy to bring you to a 6+ AS. If you can avoid the S4 models with your Vampire then this isn't bad. In any regard unless you don't want a strength bonus then a shield isn't something you will need. But if your willing to match up your S4 vs there T4 (on about every model) then sword and shield is a good option. Many will probably say armour up best you can but i'm leaning to a little stronger hits to take models out sooner. I would even hope to get Strong Man early on and go 2 handed weapon with your vampire to be able to hit on S6 all the time; with high Inititve this isn't a bad thing for you IMHO. | |

| I play the Strigoi (LoD version) and I have found that the vampire mixes best with ghouls. The ghouls are surprisingly though and with a few good level ups they become quite monstrous. Of course the strigoi are a different beast to the von Carstein but I use my vampire as a striker, jumping between different groups of henchmen to help out where needed. But don't send him of alone unless your are sure he can handle it. | |

| 2 vamp options imo. Two-handed with heavy armour or sword/mace without armor.
If your dregs went for 2-handers, I'd go for more attacks on your vamp (cause lightning reflexes and swordsman make a nearly unstoppable offense)
If you don't have anything hitting harder than a strength 4, the double-hander is a good option, but you need to armor up to make sure you can get an attack in.
EX:
Vamp 110 / Sword/Mace = 123 Necro 35 / Mace/Mace = 41 Dreg1 20 / Mace/Mace= 26 Dreg2 20 / 2Hander = 35 Dreg3 20 / 2Hander = 35 Ghouls 40 x 9 = 240
