| A-mazing looking warband! You've just received another subscriber to your thread! I love your jovial colours for the models and the shading is magnificent! I could imagine that this band would be a blast to play with - no matter if you're winning or losing it'll be a pleasure every time! May I ask you which method/product you are using for the washing? I'm trying to achieve the same shading effect but have been unsuccessful thus far. My washes always tend to be too thin and by this not leave a particularly nice gradient as you have achieved. I'd love to get some pointers if it's not too much of a trouble. As Deafnala, I may also steal the idea of the box model Mine will be used as a plaguebearer Keep up the great work! | |

| Hey Zero, I'm using Games Workshops Devlan Mud wash from the last paint range. I tend to use the same wash over the whole model as I feel its gives a unity to the model. I pretty much drown the model in the wash. I think there are a few picture on the thread of a model or two in a wash state. Once the wash has dried, I use the same base colour that I used before the wash and pick out the detail and raised areas. The wash will have darkened all of the base coat by enough for it to make quite a difference. Then after that I will often go a shade higher of the same colour and do a little highlighting on some of the extreme. In some cases I don't do this and if I don't have a colour suitable, then I mix the colour with either a brown, grey or a flesh colour. Hope that helps, never had to explain my painting before Skip Edit: I'm also very fond of the new Games workshop Base Colour, Death World Forest. I used it as a base for all flesh and for the cloth. I love mising that colour with the last ranges Dwarf Flesh for a slimey flesh colour | |

| Just so you know, the Devlan Mud wash has been re-named Agrax Earthshade. Ought to make it easier to find in your LGS. | |

| I've got the Agrax Earthshade as well. But I find it handles quite differently and not too keen on it.
You should be able to get some of the old paints from wayland games I think. Last time I checked they still had stock of some of the paints and had not changed over to the new stock yet. | |

| I'm told that the Army Painter washes are from the same factory and use the same "recipe" as the old GW washes - Dark tone (Badab Black), Strong tone (Devlan Mud), Light tone (Gryphonne Sepia). | |

| Hi Skipspence,
Excellent warband. I like the use of washes and the dark humour you've put in the models (the nurgling with juggling balls made me giggle). I'll definately be keeping an eye on this topic!

| So finally my Plague cart arrived! Now the only thing to do is try and put it together something tells me this may be difficult. More pictures to come as I attempt to make this cart work. Skip | |

| GOOD LUCK with the Beasty! It would definitely be a selling point if G.W. included assembly instructions with their kits. I have two of these things kicking around from an abortive commission; your work may give me a push to do something with them...or not. | |

| hehe, well right now I have three of the sides atached and I'm having to do a lot of filing to fit the forth in nicely. Also it seems I will need to fill in some gaps with some greenstuff (which I have run out of) so going to take me some time to complete But yet to be seen, it fits together rickety, not sure if that's by design or just the typical result of G.W's all metal models of old. It may add to the look, it may not. Right back to filing! | |

| I took some photos of the main cart together. By skipspence at 2012-08-22 By skipspence at 2012-08-22 By skipspence at 2012-08-22 By skipspence at 2012-08-22 As you can see, none of it fits together particularly well The base is not perfectly flat stopping all the sides making perfect contact all the way along and none of it has any particularly defined groves to assist slotting parts together. | |

| if nothing else you could always build your own, using most of the bits and mix in some plastic/cardboard and whatever fitting decoration you can get your hands on | |

| Got most of the cart together now, just needs tidying up with greenstuff and I'll be pretty happy with it! I got the Plague Cart and another model for free! GWs messed up my order and sent a replacement and completely forgot to bill me for any of it, but now I'm tempting fate by mentioning it. So here a picture of the cart awaiting greenstuffing! The horses are ready to be painted but been working on my second tainted one instead. Tainted One; I also got two Carnival Nurglings with the cart!!! One playng an instrument and the other rubbing his belly. The carts almost worth it just for those two nurglings! Skip | |

| The Tainted Guy is really cool...Tristan will have to go it solo now that his Jester has a new employer. GREAT WORK! I goofed on the Plague Cart...I thought of the Corpse Cart when I said I had two. G.W.'s metal kit...at least the ones I've done...do have a tendency not to fit together all that well. With the Carnival Wagon minor gaps add to the feel...this is an excellent excuse if you miss a gap or two. | |

| Awesome project! And great work on the jester!
I wish they would make that cart in plastic or resin. I wanted to get it, but being a big metal model, it just becomes too exposed to the elements (at least in my house)...

| So I was sitting here thinking, What use is a carnival without a Mime Artist? And while I was sitting there thinking, Old Grandfather Nurgle sent the troupe a gift.... Mr. Mime the Nurgling! This is one of the lovely nurglings from the Plague Cart boxset. | |

| So the Carnival are back in town. I've started painting the second plague bearer. Saw this model and decided it had to be in the warband. It may be somewhat small and slight compared to the rest of the warband but he seems to fit quite well. He is a big hit with the nurglings. I have also started making the base for my cart which I am finally warming up to begin painting.....finally! I plan to have the cart colliding up the curb on a street. Unfortunatly, the carnival took a bit of a drop during one gaming session while being borrowed for a campaign. Some of the models need first aid over some chips and breaks. Ah well, will happen when you use them Skip | |

| WELCOME BACK! Your reentry pieces are VERY COOL! The Victoria Lamb Fairy Guy is a perfect fit for a Chaos Carnival...I never would have thought of it myself; VERY CLEVER. The painting is quite nice to boot. The Green Stuff cobble stones look good. I like the texture you can get with plumbers epoxy or Milliput better, but that's just moi. | |
