| So i'm modding Mordheim for the sole reason of allowing more ranges of models to take part in fights (e.g. to allow warbands to take, pets, minions, monsters, allies, etc.) along with trying to fix the armour issue. I started with Coreheim... then re-wrote a lot of the rules back to standard Mordheim and tweaked a few of my own, and now i'm working on the warband lists, whilst throwing random figures together to decide what looks "right" in a warband..... Anway this is a Modelling thread so here we go: First point to make is that i'm aiming for 30mm, 32mm scale so I can use Privateer press models (as I have a load of them) and Reaper figures. Main reason being is I have collected a lot of figures over the years which I have never actually used.... The majority of human figures will come from GW, but be converted to scale up to 30mm (not hard seeing as the heads, feet and hands are already there!!) Warband 1: Southlanders. The southlanders are very wealthy; they fight dirty and are just as willing to stab you in the back if it means they get there way rather than face you in honourable battle. The warband to date: The swordsmen & champion (the padded bits on thier left arms are where the shields will go once I have painted the models). The mage (face needs work) [img] The assasin (screwed up the last head so having another go...) The marksmen: (swapped heads with swordsmen as I wanted 4 helmets the same for the swordsmen & champ) The Pages (basically youngbloods): More to come, I have at least 4 warbands on the go presently....

| I like that warband very much! My favourite is the armor on the swordsmen. Did you use a mold for that? And are the heads (and those of the crossbowmen) ny GW? The crossbowmen's legs are Cadian? I have the Rackham model you use for your mage myself but had to swap heads. The face is not ment to show and was sculpted accordingly imo... Keep going! (and answer my questions please^^) | |

| Thanks for the comment.
The armour on the swordsmen is sculpted onto an Empire pistollier torso, extended about 4mm to the bottom. The legs of the swordsmen and marksmen are from Catachan jungle fighters (command set, heavy weapon guys and one random junglefighter from the unit box). The leg armour was push molded from the OOP Empire halberdier set (from 5th/6th edition Warhammer I think).
The swordsmen heads are GW bretonnians (one of them is stock, 2 more are converted with heads from the militia set, the last one (far left) is converted but I can't remember where the head came from....).
The Marksmen heads are again GW bretonnian, one just had lips sculpted where his mouth was open (with really bad teeth) the other has been converted with a saxon head from Warlord games (or the other company with warlord in thier name, I never relmember).

| Here is what one of the marksmen looked like before I decided to go Crossbows instead of Handguns (And swapped their heads with the swordsmen): And the other: Here is the first 2 northlanders unpainted. You can barely tell in this photo but thier torsos have been extended to give them more realistic proportions (e.g. make them 30-32mm rather than "heroic" 28mm): And the assassin prepaint with the previous head after carving and greenstuff: And because it's frankly unfair to post a new post without anything new to the thread in it, here is a dwarf conversion that I wont be using for this project (doesn't scale well for 32mm (too short)), but would be good for traditional mordheim ideas . I should have a "proof of concept" dwarf up before too long, they are after all my favorite race. | |

| So as the southlanders almost hit the painting desk I have finished 2 of the dwarves, hopefully I can undercoat them today as well. I did some more work on the rest of the dwarves, here is one of the Heros (probably the leader) 2 more girls, one shieldmaiden one more quareller I have 2 of these guys who may well find thier way into the dwarf warband too (30mm bases BTW as there is nothing for scale). I purchased a boxed set of the Avatars of war plastic beserkers for conversions, I knew I didn't want to use them as dwarves, but I hit on another idea. I present to you my first Red Cap Gnome, nasty violent things, the Red caps. The Red cap beserkers are the worst of the bunch and this fella is no exception. Once they kill thier victims they soak their caps in their victims blood, hence the name. and lastly a couple of random things, from various warbands These two will be part of the forest elf type faction; a sapling and treeling | |

Not quite sure what you mean, but if you mean why would they be in the same warband. They wont. The gnomes will have thier own warband, I hope to get some of these to go with them:

| Thanks for the I.D. on the mini...it is a cool little piece. The Mushrooms look like fine additions to your various Bands. I have a particular/peculiar fondness for mushrooms...it goes with my fondness for Goblins. | |

| @ Alex the Gnomes are a little shorter than the dwarves, and if I can work out how the non-beserkers will be a little shoter still. I have not posted any rules anywhere as yet, i'm still working it out in my head, mostly at the moment I just have the core rules being very similar to mordheim / Coreheim, with the strenght based armour modifiers removed, sheilds getting the extra +1 save in close combat, dual wielding of weapons reciiving a -1 WS and my only little tweak of a 2 tier skill system. There will be more tweaks before i'm done, i'm just still tinking the rules through.
@ DeafNala just trying to decide how to base the goblins before I decide what to do with them, for the most part I already have enough for one warband.

| Well i'm afraid i've not had any inspiration this week and with Tidying the spare room for guests and playing on a game all of yesterday I don't have anything new to show. Painting the house next week (please excuse bare plaster in photos below), so probably not much of an update then either. But I didn't post these pictures last week so at least I can update on the project. It boils down to; I have a lot of stuff ready to paint basically: | |
